We so often hear of the 21st century skills our learners need? Common Core tells us that learners need to be critical thinkers/problem solvers, communicators, collaborators and creators. What skills are employers looking for? More than just the four Cs. This post by InformEd provides background based on what employers say they need as well as 30 tips to teach soft skills. Four tips (quoted) are below. * Demonstrate alternate paths to content mastery. * Start grading students on how well they listen to their peers. * Assign group exercises that give people the opportunity to speak, listen, write, organize and lead. * Design opportunities for students to build and demonstrate resilience.
