The Future of Work: Technology and Robots and Digital Literacy… OH MY!

The Future of Work: Technology and Robots and Digital Literacy… OH MY! | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

Q: When will robots be able to do my job?

A: Not yet… (at least not all of it).
"
I’ve been thinking about how technology is and will impact the world of work. Thanks to NPR’s Planet Money calculator: Will Your Job Be Done By A Machine? and perhaps an empirical search on automation in teaching literature I’ve been reviewing for George … I might have robots on my mind. The calculator says my professional role is not likely to be fully replaced, but I have my doubts."

What Happens When You Put Aside Your Ego And Take Your Mentors' Advice

What Happens When You Put Aside Your Ego And Take Your Mentors' Advice | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

You are a twentysomething entrepreneur ready to launch a new business and your emotions are running wild. You're frightened, intimated, and stressed, but at the same time you're enthusiastic and confident about what the future holds.

At this point, it's time to step back and listen to those who have been in the same situation.

It would be a foolish mistake and a missed opportunity not to value the advice, experience, and knowledge a mentor can offer. Put your ego aside; be a sponge and soak up as much wisdom as possible.

I was in this exact position prior to launching SDC Nutrition Inc. I was confident and probably a little too self-assured, but I knew I had to set aside my ego to listen and absorb as much invaluable advice as possible from my advisers.

The science of introverts and the workplace

The science of introverts and the workplace | E-Learning-Inclusivo (Mashup) | Scoop.it

IN THE YEAR SINCE SUSAN CAIN published “Quiet,” several other bestselling business authors have joined her effort to weed from that genre the “extrovert ideal”—the bold, outspoken personality type that many self-help books idolize. That ideal, Cain says, took root in organizations in the 20th century and has since hurt the way we identify leaders, award promotions and even structure our meetings.

Cain spoke with Lillian Cunningham, editor of the Post’s On Leadership section, about what it would look like to cultivate the assets that introverts bring to the workplace.
