Wing sail technology
Wing Sail Technology : A wingsail is a form of marine propulsion similar to conventional sails. However, a wingsail is a built-up structure with airfoil cross-section, like an airplane wing, which shape can provide a much better lift-to-drag ratio than conventional sails.

Flying’s great—you can be whisked across time zones in a matter of hours—but it’s not so great for your wallet, or the atmosphere. But NASA’s new wing design that adjusts its flaps mid-flight could be the fix.

Gladwell's Line - Burling wants to attract America's Cup fans back

Emirates Team New Zealand skipper, Peter Burling, has echoed the comments made in Sail-World NZ's newsletter editorial last week.

We hit out at the local print media and NZ Herald in particular over their one sided reporting of the team - noting that the publications were quick to run regular headline stories when the team was having its restructuring post the 34th America's Cup.

It's taken less than two years fo go from the fantastic AC72 to the ghost of an AC62 to an AC48 - the smallest boat conceived to sail in an America's Cup in the 165 year-history of the event. The AC48 will clearly be cheaper in every way, but is it the America's Cup?
