Pensioner household incomes have overtaken those of working age equivalents for the first time, a new study found. Elderly spending power has been boosted by a new wave of pensioners who tend to still be in work, own a home and receive generous pension pots, analysis by the Resolution Foundation for the Intergenerational Commission shows. Since the mid 1990s, many researchers have investigated labour market discrimination based on sexual orientation (e.g. Badgett 1995, Black et al. 2003, Arabsheibani et al. 2004, Plug and Berkhout 2004). UK workers took fewer sick days in 2016 than at any time since comparable records began almost 25 years ago. Around 137 million working days were lost from injuries and illnesses - considerably down from a peak of 185 million in 1999, despite an increase in the number of people in the workforce since then.
