The number of morbidly obese adults across Britain is expected to double from 1.9 million in 2015 to more than 4 million in 2035, new projections suggest.
- Highest rate in Wales where 13% of men and 9% of women will be affected
- 6% of English men aged 55-64 are likely to be morbidly obese by 2035
- Overly obese at higher risk of diabetes, heart disease, stroke and some cancers
- Morbid obesity already accounts for around a third of all obesity-related costs
