I’ll be honest: I wasn’t that excited about going to Digital Hollywood today. I’ve become a little burned out on conferences and the often circular nature of panel discussion. However, despite my expectations (or perhaps because of them), I thought Digital Hollywood in New York today was superb, with a ton of solid insight into both creative and business endeavors.

This year's Futures of Entertainment 5 conference launched with a special event, hosted by the MIT Communications Forum, which specifically highlighted the international dimensions of our work, and it closed with a Technobrega performance at one of Cambridge's hotter night clubs. Transmedia storytelling is storytelling across multiple forms of media with each element making distinctive contributions to a viewer's understanding of the story. By using different media formats, transmedia creates "entrypoints" through which viewers can become immersed in a storytelling world.
Telling stories across platforms seems a perfect way to create impact. So why hasn't the documentary community fully adopted it?
