Muchas veces, después de llevar un tiempo con un blog, nos preguntamos sobre la dificultad de crear una web y la conveniencia o no de mantenerla. De entrada, decir, que, en mi opinión, son dos productos totalmente diferentes y que, por tanto corresponden a distintas necesidades. One of the things that many wanted to include was a slideshow of pictures from classroom activities and field trip activities. One way to do this is to embed a Google Slides presentation into a page. Another way is to embed a Flickr album into a page. The embedded album will be displayed as a slideshow.

The second option, and the more efficient option, is to use the Sites conversion tool that has started to appear in some Google accounts. Using the Sites conversion tool has the added benefits of being able to keep your original site address and being able to move all site contributors to the updated version at the same time. A couple of weeks ago the option to duplicate a site was added to the new version of Google Sites. Duplicating a Google Site will let you make an exact copy of an existing site and have it reside at a new URL. Duplicating a site could be a convenient option to use at the beginning of a school year. If you spent the previous school year maintaining a site and you're happy with the look and content, you could re-use it by duplicating it and then just updating parts of it through the year. Duplicating a site is also a good way to create a "test" site to try to new features without impacting your primary site. In the following video I demonstrate how to duplicate a Google Site.

n a post earlier this morning I mentioned placing videos side-by-side in a Google Sites page. Within minutes I got an email from a reader who wanted to know how to do that. The way to do it is to simply insert two videos into a page then drag and drop them next to each other. You might have to re-size the videos first to make sure they will fit side-by-side. I made the following one minute video that shows you how to put two videos side-by-side in Google Sites.
