Billy Moore the former Australian and Queensland back rower has released an apology for making a comment that was deemed racist and offensive due. His specific comment made about the Warriors was "They get points because they play that coconut style, Polynesian sort of football... throwing it around." Social Media went into over drive with calls for an apology. I am inclined to agree that this particular comment was ignorant and racist even if that was not his intent. What do you think?

It's horrible to think that homophobia is still an issue in sport. It's not something that we should have to be dealing with. There is no room for homophobia what so ever, and it has absolutely no place in sport. A recent study has revealed that it is still widespread, with many reports of homophobic slurs occurring in the sporting arena. Let's hope sporting codes will start to crack down on this issue with harsher penalties.
