“Prejudice is the child of ignorance.”--William Hazlitt. True enough, prejudice and discrimination is often founded on a lack of knowledge and understanding. It is possible to remove or at least to alleviate this problem if active steps are taken to target the root cause on understanding. These steps not necessarily have to be the rigid ones like education in school or government policies that forces the idea through, but it can be the influence among the people. Just like how the incident on the violent attack on 21 years old student had struck the photographer Mr Shantaram, whom felt the need to do something for the country. He then tried to understand Africans in India and tried to help them voice out their situation using his photographs. These photographs too can be influence to others which will form a benign cycle which will influence more people and slowly diminish the problem.
