Ludwig Göransson -  How The Mandalorian Composer Felt About Facing Automatic Comparisons To Star Wars' John Williams | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

The Mandalorian introduced a number of fresh elements into the Star Wars franchise, one of which was its impeccable score from composer Ludwig Göransson. Creating music is no easy task, especially when doing so for a franchise like Star Wars, which is known for its iconic beats. With this, it was inevitable that fans would compare and contrast his work with that of the great John Williams. But Göransson seems to be taking the comparisons in stride.

I think that the demo I did is in the film virtually as I first wrote it. It's called "Beach Walk," and it plays as you see the family walking down the beach. It's supposed to be a happy day at the beach, but the music's really troubling and unsettling.

In retrospect: A year after ‘Tumbbad’, composer Jesper Kyd recalls his entry into Indian film

In retrospect: A year after ‘Tumbbad’, composer Jesper Kyd recalls his entry into Indian film | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

Remember Tumbbad? The beautifully shot, rain-drenched period horror film tells of Vinayak and Hastar, the forgotten son of the goddess of prosperity.

The film, directed by Rahi Anil Barve and Adesh Prasad was released last October and won many awards for cinematography, special effects and sound design. But the music by Jesper Kyd, most say, is pretty memorable too. Hailing from Denmark and based in Los Angeles, the composer and sound designer won a BAFTA (British Academy Film Award) Games Award in 2005 for Best Original Music for the Hitman: Contracts video game. Works such as this is what attracted a willing ear from India.

The significants of a composer who has been very successful.
Cay Rich's curator insight, November 17, 2019 11:01 PM
Jesper was a music designer that was extremely dedicated in his passion and creativity which turned out to be a major success. With his influencing team and hard work, he was able to put together a unique film that was on the top charts which to me is remarkable. The source that I got this information from stated that,”Jesper has been writing music everyday since he was 13 years old; he says the music industry and being a composer demands a vast amount of work ethic and creativity and with more projects coming out soon, he’s nowhere near slowing down”. This is a major informational resource for audio industry professionals to rely on because it shows the struggles, dedication, and success that comes with perfection in something you believe in and have a vision of success for.

David Robidoux - NFL 100 Anniversary Suite (Ep. 100) | The Annotator | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

In this extended episode, David Robidoux talks about his history of writing music for NFL Films and the unique challenges that come with writing a commemorative theme, as opposed to writing film scores. He vividly describes his writing process for this theme which eventually became four foundational motifs. Robidoux introduces and lightly explores each of these four main motifs before demonstrating several different arrangements of the four to cover the gamut of emotional and narrative range of the NFL’s centennial campaign.

Cay Rich's curator insight, November 17, 2019 11:10 PM
David Robidoux was a sound creator for NFL games and super bowl showcases for many years and this text is a major informational resource for audio professionals as stated in the reading. With David’s annotated tracks such as 02:41 - NFL 100th Anniversary Suite
02:17 - Celebratory motif
12:48 - Action/ Triumph motif
13:11 - Toughness theme
13:47 - The Struggle theme
14:33 - Celebratory theme with nostalgia
15:18 - 4 motifs with struggle stories
19:09 - Action arrangement
21:21 - Legends and stories utilizing for more motifs
23:34 - Culminations, his creativity brought him over 15 Emmy awards Which in my opinion is conventional. Robidoux influences me to stay positive with determination to never give up because although programming themes may be difficult, it can be a dramatic success if I stay focused. This content was beneficial to the knowledge of creativity.
