Invisible Melodies: An Evening with Howard Shore | Soundtrack | Scoop.it

Howard Shore is one of the most decorated Canadian composers to date. He has earned three Academy Awards and countless other accolades. He has worked on 90 films over 35 years. His filmography includes the beloved Lord of the Rings trilogy, almost all of David Cronenberg’s films,The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo, Mrs. Doubtfire, Se7en,That Thing You Do!, and Gangs of New York. And this is a very incomplete list. He also composed, I recently learned, the intro music for Saturday Night Live, having grown up with Lorne Michaels in Canadian theatre. Born in Toronto, he gave us the great pleasure of returning home and giving a Q&A led by Richard Crouse. Presented by the CFC and the Slaight Family Foundation, here are a few excerpts from “An Evening with Howard Shore” the night of May 9th at TIFF Bell Lightbox.
