LastRay PDF Tools for SketchUp allows the user to create 2D or 3D PDF files from the Google SketchUp environment. The plugin comes with a simple PDF designer and a merge tool

We hope through this blog we can share to the community different resources that we know and have: Vismats, Visopts, SketchUp models and components with Vray settings ready to be imported to a new scene, textures, hdri, written and video tutorials, links, ies data and others. The latest jaw dropping work shown is by SCF member, Sonder. He says ‘I just got so frustrated with how ACAD has been developed that I finally dropped it completely.‘ He is now producing his architectural Con Docs with SketchUp and Layout.

Tous ses plugins utilisent une librairie commune dénommée Libfredo6.rb. Elle gère par exemple les fichiers de traduction.
Régulièrement mise à jour elle gère la compatibilité arrière. Ce qui est remarquable.

There is a method to the madness. SketchUp is a real-time renderer. Anytime something changes in the workspace, the affected visible items in that workspace have to go through a series of recalculations that keep everything looking the same until the change is finished. So the more visible, complex stuff SketchUp has to manipulate, the more work the computer system needs to perform.

A member at the SketchUcation Forum recently asked SketchUp users for their three most popular plugins. While I am of course sad to see that non of mine made it into the list, this may serve as a timely update to an older post on my site.

SU Podium V2.9 has been released. It is a free upgrade for SU Podium Version 2 owners. Please download it from the Version 2 page.
The most noteworthy feature is Automatic Materials. Automatic materials is where predefined Podium reflection, blur, refraction properties are applied automatically to most of SketchUp's standard materials. SketchUp standard materials are the materials that you get when you install SketchUp. These are .skm libraries residing in the SketchUp Materials folder. 3D printing is becoming all the rage of late for obvious reasons. Mark Harrison, Community Manager at Google SketchUp has entered a post in the Google SketchUp Blog inquiring about SketchUp users interest in this new technology, here. There is also a short survey link which only takes a few minutes to complete.

Reviewing the hundreds of designs that SketchUp users have submitted to the Make Ideas Real project, we’ve noticed that a large number of submissions could be described as “useful.” (Shocker right? People design things for a reason!)

For some folks, “useful” means a project they’ve designed and built for their personal use. For instance, these two submissions are great examples of (small and big) personal projects modeled on SketchUp:
