Suomi-Finland (Finnish for “Our Land”), located on the homestead region of Cubana Bay. The Guide entry describes it as, “a land rich in history, folklore, and natural wonders”, in which visitors are invited to “explore vast forests, long waterways and pristine, frozen wilderness as you chance to stumble upon various interactive and immersive elements meant to educate and inspire Created by Shen Molinaro and Sighvatr Sturluson, this is indeed an immersive, frozen wilderness. Snow lies deep on the ground, ice sheaths the water channels in many places, and almost the entire landscape sits beneath the boughs of tall fir trees which point to midnight sky around which an auroral display ebbs and flows.

Started off as another project ( a 2D project on the web ) in 2006 on the web to provide a platform that was somewhat the same as the current VIRTLANTIS project in Second Life. Kip Yellowjacket joined Second Life on October 29 th, 2006. He saw the potential and operated a 2D project named SLEnglish in the beginning, but soon afterwards he started using the VIRTLANTIS name in Second Life. Unfortunately, the 2D project didn’t go well and thus Kip Yellowjacket decided to focus his project on Second Life.

Open for a limited time is a chess-themed space called Black & White, designed by Charlie Namiboo and Frislanda Ferraris. (Teleport up to the build from the landing point on the ground.) True to its name, the captivating space is primarily black and white, reflective of the chess boards and pieces, with the exception of a large clock and some overhead mirrors that shine light down onto the installation. Originally designed as a creative dance floor for an event, Black & White is situated over Club Bohannon.

Grace island has a super nice beach, complete with sand dunes, it's own little Giant's Causeway, bunker and places to stay and relax... We headed off, first over the Causeway, then a bridge... Maxie Daviau and Shakespeare who also goes by the name Skinnynilla (I love Second Life nomenclatures) have designed a masterpiece of an island simply known at "The Mill". And, incredibly, this is their first attempt at a region design. Everything here is unique -- I did not get any sense of deja-vu when visiting. Every turn yields surprises - including two cool red motorcycles that serve as gorgeous sculpture, a pottery oven that lines up perfectly with a lighthouse in the distance, and fields of red poppies that contrast well with the olive green high summer landscape. This is a gorgeous destination and one that I highly recommend you visit.

Auch heute gibt es keinen Simtipp, sondern lediglich ein paar Fotos von einer neuen Parzelle. Denn "Netherwood" von Lauren Bentham, ist nur auf einer halben Homestead-Region untergebracht. Da die andere Hälfte leersteht, kann ich den ganzen Sim nicht wirklich empfehlen. Besucht habe ich diese kleine Landschaft, weil ich auf Flickr dieses Foto von Lauren gesehen habe. Und wem der Name der Erstellerin ein Begriff ist, wird vielleicht auch wissen, dass Lauren unter anderem so Regionen wie Bentham Manor, Everwinter, Baja Norte und StoryBrooke Gardens gebaut hat und immer noch deren Owner ist. Für mich ein Grund, auch mal ihre neueste Kreation zu besichtigen.

Pillows is a retail destination that sells indoor and outdoor furnishings and decor items. It is also available at a wedding venue. It also has a stunning pastoral landscape that is entirely natural. I though it looked perfect in early morning light. I highly recommend a visit.

I was peeking around Second Life in search of another cool destination for photography and scenery and stumbled upon Sorrow located at the Paper Dinosaurs sim. It is a beautifully done setting in a winter theme complete with shooting stars, snow on the rocks by the river. As you wander around the lands, it has several interesting items complete with poses for photo opportunities! As you walk slowly towards the mountains , you’ll see a broken wooden path leading up to a single castle building. Don’t be scared of the dogs at the top of the hill as they do seem friendly as I made my way to the door….the soft creak as I pushed the door open I found a nice warm fire.

Heute stelle ich einen ganz besonderen Sim vor. Als ich den gestern besucht habe, bin ich dort für Stunden vollständig eingetaucht. Die Gestaltung ist einfach großartig, was kaum verwundert, denn die Region wurde von Isa Messioptra, zusammen mit dem jetzigen Owner Keke Boo (blissnss) vorgenommen. Isa hat ja auch schon das zauberhafte Crestwick Island gestaltet und ihre Single Frame Movies auf Flickr sind auch recht sehenswert. Aufmerksam wurde ich auf Legacy Ridge wieder mal im Blog von Yana. Schon ihre Fotos fand ich gut gelungen. Doch als ich dann selbst dort war, sah das Ganze noch mal eine Spur besser aus als es Fotos darstellen können. Das gilt auch für meine Fotos hier. Sie bringen das immersive Gefühl dieser Region kaum passend rüber.

Chuisle Alecto's Sordid Affair on Grace Island, by her own words, are "the end of a summer's love affair, as told through a photogenic beach sim capped with mountain forest". I thought the land and seascape were unique designed and quite gorgeous and that the houses and beach shacks, and other architectural details were particularly well done. This is beachfront design at its best. I highly recommend a visit.

Ich habe bei meinen Simtipps ja schon oft auf einen Blogpost von Yana Kawanishi verwiesen, über den ich jeweils auf die von mir besuchte Region aufmerksam wurde. Yana kommt aus Japan und führt einen recht einfachen SL Reiseblog. Ein paar Fotos (manche davon nur ganz klein eingebettet) und dazu ein paar Sätze auf Japanisch, was ich zwar nicht verstehe, was aber ganz lustig aussieht. Dazu bloggt sie fast jeden Tag und das seit vielen Jahren.
Am 2. Januar hat sie hier ihre Gallerie vorgestellt und zwei Tage später habe ich sie dann mal besucht. Die Galerie befindet sich auf einer japanischen Wohn-, Shop- und Galerie-Region. Der Landepunkt ist allerdings fest eingestellt. Deshalb muss man nach dem Teleport über meine SLURL den roten Beamstrahl auf der Region suchen und an diese Stelle mit dem Avatar laufen.
