Second Life marks its 2st anniversary in 2024, with a month of activity kicking-off through until Sunday, July 21st. Celebrations will be taking place across the Birthday regions in Second Life, and and with previous years includes live music, DJ sets, art, shopping (via the dedicated Shop and Hop event), exhibits by Linden Lab and – particularly – exhibits by Second Life residents and communities. The following is intended to provide a general overview of the celebrations and provide calendars, SLurls and anything else that might be useful to you when visiting the regions. This light show is expected to last until the end of June. After landing, don't be surprised - you'll find yourself in a completely black skybox, where you'll only see the light show, the chairs and the sign in color. Kingsand is a Homestead region designed by Tempest and adjoining the Kultivate Gallery region. It is offered as a location for relaxation and photography – and to mark its opening, it is also host to a photographic competition running through until June 30th, 2024 offering a combined prize pool of L$30,000 – of which more anon. We recently visited this exhibition at 'The Annex of Nitroglobus Roof Gallery'... ... this is a lush, rich-hued presentation, both the space, and the work... ... there's a demented cat... ... whose antics took my attention from these beautiful works, but only for a little while... ...… this is a sumptuously appointed gallery space, the space as much a part of the experience as the work, which is always nice… Click on the photo for the full blog about The Annex of Nitroglobus Roof gallery by Seraphim Placebo

We took a train trip and an airplane ride at Haveit Neox’s sim. Here is the landmark for the plane ride. it’s harder to find than the train, which you can find by following the railroad track. ---- Haveit Neox started the Port of Sparquerry region to build his installation "Stirring the Dreams that took part in the New Media Festival in Santa Fe (New Mexico).

Owners are nez.zise , charmel.kiyori and 1twisted . According to the rezzed items, the whole thing was built by nez.zise.
Dense jungle, interrupted by wooden walkways, dilapidated huts and even inhabited ones.
he density of the flora and the wooden walkways that serve as paths make you think you've been traveling for a long time on a large piece of land. Well done.

Her quaint home is surrounded by vast, aromatic lavender fields that sway gently in the breeze, creating a serene and otherworldly atmosphere. Madame Loutre is both a guardian and a secret keeper of the village, known for her wisdom and the enchanting, calming presence she bestows upon visitors. The villagers from nearby towns speak in hushed tones about her magical abilities and the tranquility her lavender brings. The owner and sim designer is LeLoo (lelooulf). What is really nice are the many matching animals, I especially like the elephants and the beach there. That's why I decided to introduce the newly renovated land of LeLoo.

Destination builder and virtual travel expert AshaRhia launched an innovative project earlier this year, creating several pop-up destinations each month. These locations remain open for just a few weeks before being taken down. For the summer season, Asha has made several destinations openly accessible to all visitors. These include the Turks and Caicos Islands and the Maldives, which I recently explored.

From the east and south the land rises in a gentle slope, climbing gently to the west and north to meet with the upward sweep of land for the north side of the region so that all three slopes slopes form the low hump of a hill before falling back towards the western edge of the region. Across this landscape and broken by precious few trees, is spread a blanket of lavender, running from the water’s edge on all sides and drawn into regimented lines and blocks by avenues of grass in places topped by short lines of paving stones. While it aims to capture the spirit of the Dominican Republic, Punta Cana is best described as a generic tropical SL resort – pleasant but with the potential for much more. Patrick Moya is an artist in many worlds. According to the Second Life Destination Guide: "Patrick Moya is a French contemporary artist keen on expressing himself through the diffusion and transformation of his name and image. " He is considered one of the very first digital artists. He is often in Second Life and constantly updating Moyaland. In Second Life his art installation covers four regions. I am always amazed when I visit it. If you go I suggest starting at the Tourist Office. You can teleport using a map of the Regions or you can just explore. Click on the photo to read the full blog

Located within the north-west corner of a Full private region which has been sub-divided into a series rental parcels, and which leverages the Land Capacity bonus, Simurg occupies a little under 4096 sq metres and is held by Lintu (KorppiLintu). It is offered as public space for visitors and photography, redressing it to suit the season and / or to offer different themes. The iteration I visited at the start of June 2024 carried the sub-title Ancient City, and contained a mix of ancient history wrapped with a touch of fantasy mythology. Genteel, relaxing and eye-catching under almost any EEP daytime setting (I’ve using the Shared environment in my images here), Joyful Gardens is a region that more than meets the promise of its name.

Open through most of June 2024 at the Kondor Art Club, a part of Hermes Kondor’s Kondor Art Centre, is a solo exhibition by JudiLynn India which again demonstrates her extraordinary acrylic art, here given a digital edge through the considered use of post-processing via Procreate, a raster graphics editor developed for devices using Apple’s iOS and iPadOS.

The 2024 Second Life Hair Fair is opens on Saturday, June 1st and runs through until Sunday, June 16th, 2024. As with previous years, is being run to raise money for Wigs for Kids, with every purchase seeing a percentage donated to the cause, with the Bandana booths and Donation kiosks donating 100% of all proceeds received. We visited the 'The Ghost Has No Name' exhibition, at the 'Artsville Galleries', recently... ... we really liked both the space, and the work... ... beautiful, dream-Rorschach-like imagery... ... we liked them all.
