Canada have named the same team that lost a warm-up match to the Australian Barbarians a couple of weeks ago, which is in direct contrast to the way Tonga has approached this match. Only four players remain from the team that started against New Zealand and all four wear different jerseys; Finau Maka moves to blindside, Kurt Morath to fullback, Siale Piutau to centre and, in a bizarre selection, Taniela Moa goes to fly-half – a position he has never filled in major matches. Maka was under a cloud before the New Zealand match with lower leg problems and left the field early, but he has again been named to lead the side.
