Hundreds of years before Interstate 94 became the primary way to travel between Detroit and Chicago, the Great Sauk Trail was the most important Native American path in the Great Lakes region. The route, known as the Old Chicago Road, still connects the two cities, with quaint towns and historic sites along the way.
