As the lockdown to stop the spread of coronavirus in India continues, pollution levels across much of the country have dropped sharply. Now some residents in northern India say they can see the snow-capped Himalayas 200 kilometres away for the first time in 30 years.

...Then last week, a tweet from an Indian doctor went viral and provided some much-needed perspective on this fearsome disease. "Social distancing is a privilege," wrote Dr Jagadish Hiremath. "It means you live in a house large enough to practise it. 

 “Hand washing is a privilege too. It means you have access to running water. Hand sanitisers are a privilege. It means you have money to buy them. Lockdowns are a privilege. It means you can afford to be at home. Most of the ways to ward the corona off are accessible only to the affluent.”

During this Coronavirus the planet is changing in some cases for the better.  We are producing less pollution, less noise pollution, and we can hear the birds and if you near the ocean you might hear the whale.  The rivers and lakes are becoming clearer which is beautiful to see.

What will happen when COVID-19 hits refugee camps? 

 That's what Dr. Paul Spiegel and a team of researchers have been examining. They've been looking at how the coronavirus might affect the densely populated camps outside Cox's Bazar, Bangladesh — home to 850,000 Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. As of Monday, there are 49 cases in the country, including one person in the town of Cox's Bazar.
