ACLU Calls for Investigation After ICE Protest Clash in Quakertown

The ACLU of Pennsylvania is urging a “full and transparent investigation” into a Feb. 20 confrontation between Quakertown police and high school students protesting ICE policies. Videos widely shared online show physical clashes, with several students and one adult arrested and both students and the police chief reportedly injured. Civil rights groups and community members are demanding accountability and dismissal of charges, while authorities allege some protesters engaged in disruptive and dangerous behavior. The incident remains under investigation by the Bucks County District Attorney.

I agree with Wayne Codner for PA Senate:

"We must encourage our young people to peacefully stand strong for their beliefs, and be independent, responsible citizens. They must be able to do so without fear of violence and intimidation from government officials or servants.
"This incident calls for total transparency. The Quakertown Police needs to end their silence and give thorough answers and communication to the frightened parents, friends, and loved ones of the students being held in custody. They must also provide body camera footage to give the community the full scope of what occurred."
