The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) was meant to transform the fight to protect forests worldwide. Instead, the European Commission has repeatedly postponed its rollout, citing IT problems. After the European Commission today declared an “economic and social emergency”, trade unions say it must now deliver the new money and laws needed to end this crisis.
