Explaining the name, Kavanagh posted on Instagram: "Conall - "Strong as a Wolf".
"A Celtic name borne by many legendary Kings and Warriors of Ireland.
"One of them was the Ulster hero Conall Cearnach. "Conall of the Victories" who avenged Cúchulainn's death by killing Lugaid.
"Middle name John from the Icelandic tradition of surnames usually derived from the father's name.

A baby born in Stykkishólmur was christened after Iceland's famous trio, Chief of Police Víðir Reynisson, Chief Epidemiologist Þórolfur Guðnason, and Director of Health Alma Möller. The boy was named Víðir Þór Almarsson and was baptised yesterday.

Yesterday's news that an official Horse Naming Commission had barred a horse farmer in North Iceland from naming her horse Mósan raised more than a few eyebrows, as most people were unaware of the existence of this commission. A government commission which has to approve all new names given to people, the Naming Committee, has frequently been the subject of controversy.
