As the days grow shorter, how about some Night Owl Names for girls? Names like Twyla, Carina, Lila, Diana, Selene - poetic, mysterious, lovely.

Mmmm, these names do share a certain feel, don't they? There are lots of beautiful ones, and quite a few new to me, such as Callirhoe, Meissa, and Vaela.

It was easy for us to pick our son Nova’s name. Before I became pregnant my beloved and I were looking through a book titled Universe and the conversation came up about baby names. We laughed and pondered really obscure names like Galexia and Nebula while seriously entertaining names such as Orion and Nova. We typed the names into my iPhone and when we spelled out Nova we both knew that was the name of our future child. I think the simplicity of the name was what struck us first and then the uniqueness of using the word Nova as a name, these qualities seemed perfect for the baby that would come into our life regardless if we had a boy or a girl. We loved the name Nova so much and the simplicity of the structure, sound and meaning that we didn’t feel a middle name was necessary. The name was chosen about 8 months before we began trying to conceive.
