As marketers sink more of their budgets into online advertising, consumers grow increasingly frustrated with it.
Ad-heavy pages cause slow load times and, in some cases, make getting to the content difficult for readers and social media users. Who wants to watch a two-minute pre-roll before watching a two-minute movie trailer? It's being served an ad before watching the ad you wanted to watch.
The more aggressive and intrusive the ads get, the more online users become desensitized, and ignore, skip, or even block ads.

If your content doesn't include a call to action, you are leaving lots of money on the table that will never make it into your pocket until those CTAs are put into place. Simply put, a call to action tells your readers to do exactly what you'd like them to. And if your copy is intriguing enough, your readers will have no problem taking action.
While focusing on conversions during CTA creation is essential, your copy doesn't need to be "salesy" in order to be effective. Here's how to create balanced calls-to-action that result in new customers, newsletter subscribers, and even brand ambassadors for your business:
Create a personable experience
CTA's are important to ALL content, including science-based content. Are we producing CTA's on the content developed by consultants?

Is Netflix “Content Marketing?”
Let’s back up. Many marketers wouldn’t consider Netflix a tale of content marketing success. Content marketing, they would argue, is meant to produce leads – and business results. Netflix is entertainment, not content marketing. Or, so the logic goes.

A common yet misleading way to judge a company or website is by checking their monthly traffic. I admit, I do this on a daily basis while perusing the web. Yes, the amount of traffic your website receives is important but it is by no means an indication of success.
Despite all of the time, money and effort you spend driving traffic to your site, the majority of traffic leaves without converting into a lead or a sale. The average conversion rate for websites is 2.35%. This means that 98% of the traffic driven to your website does not convert.
Why does conversion rate matter? Websites with higher conversion rates tend to have more engaged visitors, regular visitors, and make more money. In ecommerce, this means your making more sales. In blogging, this means you have more readers and more interaction on your blog. In short, while traffic is important, set your sights on driving more conversions!
So what is one tactic that you can implement today that will drive more of your visitors to convert? The answer is exit pop ups and exit offers!

Here’s something disturbing: According to data gathered by marketing agency Deep Focus, four out of every 10 millennials would rather engage with pictures than read. Yes, you read that right. Nearly half of history’s most educated generation would prefer to revert back to some sort of cave painting-esque proto-language than bother to parse through a couple of sentences.
Of course, most prominent among this shift to pictorial communication is the emoji. We detailed its rise to prominence last year, but in short, the emoji as we know it started in 2011 and reached near-ubiquity in the past year or so. Now, in 2016, seemingly every millennial peppers their texts or tweets or Facebook messages or Instagram posts or college essays with yellow faces of varying temperaments.

A leaked document Facebook sent to some of its biggest advertisers reveals that Facebook will launch ads within Messenger in Q2 2016.
The document, obtained by TechCrunch but kept private to protect its verified source, says businesses will be able to send ads as messages to people who previously initiated a chat thread with that company. To prepare, the document recommends that businesses get consumers to start message threads with them now so they’ll be able to send them ads when the feature launches.

After creating a marketing video, most brands distribute their videos through YouTube, Facebook, or other paid media options. But what about LinkedIn?
LinkedIn is one of the most important networks for B2B marketers. It boasts over 350 million registered users and sets itself apart with a more professional, business-savvy audience. However, most companies underutilize the platform, which means video content on the platform tends to be underutilized as well.
For marketers who do promote their videos on the channel, LinkedIn can be a goldmine. It offers a great opportunity to stand out in the crowd and promote targeted, B2B video campaigns that reach a professional audience. If your brand has yet to focus on LinkedIn, here are five ways to boost your video marketing efforts with LinkedIn and grab the attention of your prospects.

Since the rise of the term content marketing, perhaps two years ago, there’s been plenty of talk about the end of SEO and its replacement by the ‘new’ discipline.
It’s true that many search agencies have since rebranded or have emphasized their content expertise, but this doesn’t mean that content marketing has rendered SEO obsolete. Far from it. Indeed, the two disciplines should work together, and the use of either has to include both SEO and content if it is to be truly effective online.

If you were to compare the Web to a huge, global classroom, then visual content, especially infographics, would be the popular kid in the class. They not only receive three times more “likes” than other types of online content, they also get a lot more “shares.”

Starting today, we’re rolling out a redesigned video metrics interface in Page Insights. With this redesign, we’ve added some new metrics that publishers have told us they’d like to see, and we’ve made it easier for publishers to access some key video metrics from the previous Page Insights interface. We hope these updates will give publishers more tools to assess and refine their video strategies.
Here are the metrics that will be available in the updated interface:

This year, content will continue to be one of the most important forms of marketing in nearly every industry — from semiconductors and software right to ecommerce and retailing. Gurus, experts, and pundits will, generally, sing its praises. But for small business owners without the resources to hire a professional journalist, writing content can be daunting.
Fortunately, almost anyone can learn to write content that will attract, engage, and retain customers. You might never become the next J.K Rowling, Stephen King, or Mark Twain, but you should be able to write clearly enough to communicate some useful information to prospects and customers alike.
Here are some tips to help you become a better content writer and content marketer. It will take hard work and practice, so start now.

As many brands realize, the best audience to target for marketing purposes are women, and even more specifically – the mother community. These modern day moms are not what they used to be. Today, in between work, social commitments and taking care of families, their primary focus lies in researching new products and services online. Being addicted to social media, they also share their thoughts and experiences online, leveraging their powerful presence to either make or break a brand.

How-to guides, buyer’s guides and instructional videos can be an effective content marketing tactic for online retailers.
In this post I’ll look at some examples from ecommerce sites and show how effective they can be.
What are how-to guides?
In this context I mean content on retail websites which offers useful advice for visitors.
This may be help with product selection, advice on finding the right fit for clothing, or practical advice on how to fix something.
This content works on-site as it addresses possible customer problems, where solving them may mean more sales.
Off-site, this kind of useful content can attract visitors to you site through search. If you’re addressing common issues and concerns, then your potential customers may well be searching for solutions.
Why should retailers produce how-to guides?

By now, most businesses have gotten the message: Content marketing is more popular than ever, and it’s not going anywhere any time soon.
As content marketing replaces traditional marketing efforts across the board–70 percent of B2B marketers are generating more content than they were a year ago–companies of all sizes are creating their own publishing houses to consistently pump out content that is not only useful, well-researched and educational, but also entertaining and inspiring.
The B2C Content Marketing report, for example, found that 50 percent of B2C marketers expect their budgets to increase. Meanwhile, content marketing was rated as the most important digital marketing trend for 2015, as seen in the graph below.
