Denn fast 100 Prozent der Abgänger dieses Studienganges finden im Anschluss sofort eine Arbeit. Ein klarer Hinweis auf den Hunger auf Informatiker, den unsere mittlerweile stark digitalisierte und von Innovationen getriebene Wirtschaft zeigt. Kein Wunder also, dass Claude Meisch so sehr auf den Faktor Innovation pocht: „Wir müssen weiter neue Wege gehen.“

The Southeast Asian city-state does of course have a geographical advantage over far larger countries such as Sweden and Norway, though. The United States' ranks significantly lower than the globe's top performers, with an average speed of 25.86, putting it in place 20.

Digital Luxembourg’s infrastructure team launches the country’s 5G strategy
It may seem like just yesterday that 4G dethroned 3G and that, yet again, a new replacement has arrived. Despite its name, however, 5G is more than simply another mobile network generation.
While its predecessors improved the speed and quality of communication between people, 5G allows limitless machines, robots and smart objects to join the conversation.
Its ultra-low latency environment will lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s connected, data-heavy world. The internet of things, VR, automated driving, remote controlled robots, smart homes and cable-less manufacturing could become fixtures of everyday life.
In 2016, the EU acknowledged its importance by publishing an action plan suggesting that every member state have at least one city with 5G connectivity by 2020, followed by the rest of its main cities in the subsequent five years.
“5G is not just 4G with more bandwidth. It represents a new wave of possibilities across all sectors that will redefine how we live,” said Pierre Goerens, Executive Director, Electronic Communications, part of the government’s Media and Communications Services . “That’s why it’s important for Luxembourg to have it in a timely manner. The ecosystem needs a 5G framework in order to develop.”
To position itself among the first adopters, Digital Luxembourg’s ICT infrastructure team defined a national 5G strategy, officially launched by Xavier Bettel, Prime Minister and Minister of Media and Communications, on September 12, 2018. The document centers largely on pilot partnerships, business models, broadband frequencies and regulations.
While early 5G implementation is essential to staying competitive, a lack of certainty regarding profitability in its initial stages represents a challenge. In the absence of sufficient profit incentives, the state will need to play an active role in jumpstarting development instead of relying solely on operators.

POST Luxembourg has become the first Luxembourgish operator to offer free WiFi Calling.
Launched by POST in December 2017 as a national debut, the WiFi Calling option is now free in the main mobile packages of POST Luxembourg. WiFi Calling is a technology that allows to make calls from a mobile phone using a WiFi network without using the mobile network. When moving between a WiFi network and the POST mobile network (and vice versa), communication continues without interruption. As an additional advantage, this technology improves user comfort and experience: call set-up time is almost instantaneous and it allows calls with High Definition sound quality.

En collaboration avec le Technoport, cette structure hybride offrira formations et incubation, mais aussi et surtout un environnement propice pour faire se rencontrer deux mondes que l’on dit souvent trop distants. L’idée vient du lycée et non du ministère, mais elle reflète une tendance de plus en plus marquée qui vise à adapter l’éducation à la digitalisation de l’économie.

The confirmation was made during Luxembourg Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna's mission in China this week (9-13 September 2018) which focused on sustainable finance and the strengthening of ties between Luxembourg and China.
After having attended a series of meetings in Beijing, first with his Chinese counterpart, Liu Kun, on the macroeconomic situation and risks of protectionism, and then with the leaders of several Chinese banks, Pierre Gramegna met with the President of Ant Financial, Eric Jing, in Hangzhou to discuss the company's international development strategy and the role that Luxembourg could play in this context. At this meeting, Eric Jing confirmed that Ant Financial, the parent company of Alipay, China's largest mobile payment platform, has chosen Luxembourg as a European hub to help connect their Chinese customers with merchants established in the European Union.

Bildung, Bildung, Bildung – Kaum etwas bestimmt den Werdegang so sehr, wie dieses Thema. Frei nach dem Motto «Sag mir, wie gebildet du bist, und ich sage dir, was aus dir werden kann». Die OECD (Organisation für wirtschaftliche Zusammenarbeit und Entwicklung) setzt sich in ihrem neusten Bericht «Bildung auf einen Blick 2018» mit eben diesem Thema und seinen vielfältigen Indikatoren auseinander – und zieht für Luxemburg in einigen Bereichen eine positive Bilanz.
Das Schuljahr für die ISL-Schüler ist gestartet Allen voran gibt Luxemburg an zwei Stellen besonders viel Geld aus: bei den Lehrern und den Bildungsausgaben für Schüler. Im Vergleich mit anderen OECD-Ländern sind die Löhne für Lehrer in Luxemburg sogar Spitzenreiter, dicht gefolgt vom Nachbarn Deutschland. Jeder Schüler der teilnehmenden Schulen soll ein Tablet erhalten, welches er gegen eine Miete von fünf Euro pro Monat sieben Tage die Woche nutzen kann.

Nous avons ensuite été conviés au CeBit à Hanovre où nous avons remporté le concours organisé par Volkswagen, avant d’être finaliste du concours de l’Adac, la plus importante société d’assistance automobile d’Allemagne avec 20 millions de membres.
Ces différents événements nous ont conféré une belle visibilité et ont permis d’élargir le périmètre des territoires intéressés par notre technologie. Un succès qui nous conduit à lancer une nouvelle augmentation de capital pour poursuivre notre développement international. Nous mettons par ailleurs la touche finale à une série de partenariats au Benelux, ces projets étant appelés à être déployés avant la fin de l’année.

Auf Wunsch des Verbandes der Pumpenbetreiber können auch Fälle von Kraftstoffdiebstahl an der Pumpe von den Tankstellen-Betreibern online gemeldet werden.

Les cinq années de travail au sein du ministère qui réunissait pour la première l’Éducation nationale, l’Enfance et la Jeunesse ont abouti à un paysage éducatif moderne, dynamique et plus équitable. « Nous avons mis une politique en œuvre pour que chaque bébé devienne un enfant fort, qui deviendra à son tour un adulte indépendant, prêt à prendre des responsabilités pour lui-même, pour sa famille et dans la société » a résumé le ministre.
En tout, au cours de cinq années écoulées, 160 projets ont été menés à bien, 43 projets de loi ont été votés et 138 règlements grand-ducaux sont entrés en vigueur. 106 conférences de presse ont assuré la communication de ces travaux.
Le bilan est illustré dans un clip vidéo (en luxembourgeois) reprenant neuf grands chapitres : la petite enfance, le soutien aux jeunes familles, l’apprentissage des langues, la diversification de l’offre scolaire, la promotion des talents, la stratégie Digital(4)education, les diplômes et les voies de qualification alternatives, la prise en charge des élèves à besoins éducatifs spécifiques et notre identité.

Luxembourg has reached nineteenth place in a global ranking of economies based on their competitiveness.
The World Economic Forum's annual study found digital technologies are creating a new set of challenges for governments and businesses.
The report said this runs the collective risk of creating a negative impact on future growth and productivity.
Luxembourg moved up three positions in the ranking from 22nd in 2017, coming in tenth in Europe.
It was also ranked second as the most "future-ready" economy after Singapore and ahead of the US.
Luxembourg was also among the Top Five most stable financial markets alongside Finland, Hong Kong, Switzerland and Norway.
