Mené en collaboration avec le transporteur Sales-Lentz, ce projet pilote durera six mois avant qu’un premier bilan soit tiré.
Élus, journalistes ou simples badauds, ils étaient une cinquantaine de personnes à assister au premier essai de la petite navette 100% autonome inaugurée jeudi par la Ville de Luxembourg et le transporteur Sales-Lentz, dans le quartier du Pfaffenthal.
À partir de ce vendredi, le véhicule reliera l’ascenseur panoramique au funiculaire, puis au cimetière du Val des Bons-Malades. Un parcours qu’il couvrira toutes les 15 minutes, entre 7h et 21h et du lundi au vendredi. Cette navette pourrait être doublée durant les heures de pointe, pour réduire de moitié le temps d’attente.
Elle pourra accueillir une quinzaine de personnes et roulera à une vingtaine de km/h. Même s’il n’y a pas de chauffeur, un opérateur sera présent en permanence dans la navette pour contrôler son bon fonctionnement et intervenir en cas de problème.

Les utilisateurs sont invités à répondre à 43 questions couvrant des thématiques telles que l’économie et le travail, l’aménagement du territoire, l’environnement, les finances, la santé, l’éducation et les affaires étrangères.
Grâce à un algorithme adapté, ces réponses sont comparées aux réponses des candidats des partis politiques. Des représentations graphiques affichent ensuite les similarités et différences d’opinion entre les utilisateurs et les candidats. A ce jour, 62% des candidats aux élections ont répondu au questionnaire, et des nouveaux profils s’ajoutent régulièrement.
« Le questionnaire a été élaboré sur base des programmes des partis politiques, des débats et discussions dans les médias et des interviews avec des journalistes. Nous avons également demandé à différents groupes d’intérêts et institutions de la société civile de nous proposer des questions », expliquent Michèle Schilt et Jenny Gross, du Zentrum fir politesch Bildung.

Im Gegensatz zu dieser will die LSA “keine wissenschaftlichen Experimente” finanzieren. Wenn eines Tages eine LSA-Sonde auf einem fernen Himmelskörper landet, dann sollte diese Mission Gewinn abwerfen.

DeepBlue, which uses AI to provide autonomous services for retailers, will also work with the local operations of PwC and KPMG, marketing agency Farvest and ICT services company Telindus.
It will look to expand its presence in the European market and develop a new AI algorithm.
Through the agreement, the parties seeks to position Luxembourg and China at the forefront of AI R&D on a global scale.

Luxembourg-founded medical booking startup DOCTENA secures €8 million from private investors to fuel its European expansion. DOCTENA is a leading doctor booking platform in DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) and the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg).
The new funding will be used to consolidate existing markets and expand its leadership position in the European countries it operates in.

The confirmation was made during Luxembourg Minister of Finance Pierre Gramegna's mission in China this week (9-13 September 2018) which focused on sustainable finance and the strengthening of ties between Luxembourg and China.

It may seem like just yesterday that 4G dethroned 3G and that, yet again, a new replacement has arrived. Despite its name, however, 5G is more than simply another mobile network generation.
While its predecessors improved the speed and quality of communication between people, 5G allows limitless machines, robots and smart objects to join the conversation.
Its ultra-low latency environment will lay the groundwork for tomorrow’s connected, data-heavy world. The internet of things, VR, automated driving, remote controlled robots, smart homes and cable-less manufacturing could become fixtures of everyday life.
In 2016, the EU acknowledged its importance by publishing an action plan suggesting that every member state have at least one city with 5G connectivity by 2020, followed by the rest of its main cities in the subsequent five years.
“5G is not just 4G with more bandwidth. It represents a new wave of possibilities across all sectors that will redefine how we live,” said Pierre Goerens, Executive Director, Electronic Communications, part of the government’s Media and Communications Services . “That’s why it’s important for Luxembourg to have it in a timely manner. The ecosystem needs a 5G framework in order to develop.”

Le collège échevinal de Luxembourg-ville a inauguré jeudi deux navettes autonomes qui circuleront entre l’ascenseur du Pfaffenthal, le funiculaire et le cimetière du Val des Bons-Malades. Mené en collaboration avec le transporteur Sales-Lentz, ce projet pilote durera six mois avant qu’un premier bilan soit tiré.
Élus, journalistes ou simples badauds, ils étaient une cinquantaine de personnes à assister au premier essai de la petite navette 100% autonome inaugurée jeudi par la Ville de Luxembourg et le transporteur Sales-Lentz, dans le quartier du Pfaffenthal.
À partir de ce vendredi, le véhicule reliera l’ascenseur panoramique au funiculaire, puis au cimetière du Val des Bons-Malades. Un parcours qu’il couvrira toutes les 15 minutes, entre 7h et 21h et du lundi au vendredi. Cette navette pourrait être doublée durant les heures de pointe, pour réduire de moitié le temps d’attente.
Elle pourra accueillir une quinzaine de personnes et roulera à une vingtaine de km/h. Même s’il n’y a pas de chauffeur, un opérateur sera présent en permanence dans la navette pour contrôler son bon fonctionnement et intervenir en cas de problème.
