At a press conference on Monday, Marc Hansen, Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, and Pit Peporté, President of the non-profit organisation ErwuesseBildung (EwB), presented the digital skills training courses for adults developed in the context of an agreement signed in February between the two parties.
Through this agreement, the Ministry of Digitalisation aims to support individuals who experience difficulties in the face of new technologies and the changes they bring to their lives, for example regarding state services.
“We are committed to continuing to provide citizens with traditional channels of communication with the state. However, for those who wish to go digital, it is essential to give them the means to develop their digital skills which will guarantee a correct and safe use of these new tools”, commented Minister Marc Hansen. On Thursday 15 July 2021, Luxembourg's Prime Minister Xavier Bettel received the Minister of State of Monaco, Pierre Dartout, for an interview at the Ministry of State in Luxembourg-Ville.
Discussions focused in particular on bilateral relations and more specifically relations in the digital field. Monaco and Luxembourg have both made digital transition a priority to support the modernisation of their administration and promote innovation in their respective territories.
Consequently, Ministers Xavier Bettel and Pierre Dartout signed an agreement concerning the hosting of Monegasque data and information systems in a Luxembourg data centre. This agreement is the result of a declaration of intent signed between the Monegasque and Luxembourgish governments in 2018. Nombre de métiers faisant appel aux technologies les plus récentes génèrent des opportunités d’embauche. Ces métiers « SMART » sont en constante évolution et créent de nombreux emplois intéressants et évolutifs. Le marché du travail demande en effet de plus en plus de personnes qualifiées et spécialisées dans de nouveaux domaines ou des domaines profondément transformés par la digitalisation et l’automatisation. À titre d’exemple, 86 % des jeunes diplômés en mécanique d’autos et de motos et 96 % des informaticiens qualifiés ont trouvé ces dernières années un emploi dans les premiers quatre mois suivant l’obtention de leur diplôme.
Parmi les 122 professions et métiers auxquels la formation professionnelle prépare, certaines font particulièrement appel aux technologies les plus récentes. Elles mènent aux certificat de capacité professionnelle (CCP), au diplôme d’aptitude professionnelle (DAP), au diplôme de technicien (DT) ou au brevet de technicien supérieur (BTS). Luxembourg’s new supercomputer, MeluXina, was launched on 7 June as part of the country’s data-driven innovation strategy, addressing the needs of companies, start-ups as well as public and research institutions.
Several research projects have been granted early access to MeluXina to perform large-scale experiments and test their software on the system.

Pour aller au restaurant sans restriction, dans les bars et boites de nuit, ou à un événement sportif ou un mariage, le «Covid check» est le nouveau système qui ouvrira les portes. Vacciné, testé ou guéri, il faudra prouver via un QR code une de ces trois conditions.
«Testé, vacciné, guéri», ont répété le Premier ministre, Xavier Bettel (DP), et la ministre de la Santé, Paulette Lenert (LSAP), lors du point presse de mercredi annonçant un allègement conséquent des mesures anti-Covid. Car pour profiter de ce retour à une certaine normalité, il faudra dans de nombreuses situations remplir une des trois conditions énoncées.
Le contrôle de ces conditions se fera sous l’égide d’un système: le «Covid check», ou l’équivalent national du passeport sanitaire européen. Mais si ce dernier doit entrer en vigueur début juillet , c’est dès le 13 juin et l’entrée en vigueur de la nouvelle loi Covid que ce certificat national pourra être utilisé. Arztrechnungen, Rezepte, Krankschreibungen: All das soll es in Luxemburg künftig auch in digitaler Form geben und damit den Informationsaustausch im Gesundheitsbereich vereinfachen. Eine entsprechende Vereinbarung haben am Mittwoch die Nationale Gesundheitskasse (CNS), die Vereinigung der Ärzte und Zahnärzte (AMMD) und der Kreis der Allgemeinmediziner (CMD) im Beisein des Ministers für soziale Sicherheit, Romain Schneider, unterzeichnet, wie die Regierung am heutigen Donnerstag mitteilt.
So sollen die Computersysteme der Ärzte schrittweise modernisiert werden: Künftig sollen Rechnungen mit einem QR-Code versehen werden, über den auch die CNS Zugriff auf die Dokumente hat. Die händische Dateneingabe entfällt, was die Abläufe beschleunigen soll. Die CNS geht davon aus, dass 30 Prozent der Ärzte bis Juli mit dem QR-System arbeiten können.
Im Laufe des Sommers soll außerdem eine Smartphone-App der CNS eingeführt werden. Damit können die Versicherten ihre Gesundheitsdokumente hochladen und schneller an die Gesundheitskasse senden. Danach sollen schließlich auch Medikamentenrezepte und Arbeitsunfähigkeitsbescheinigungen digitalisiert werden. CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg has announced the launch of a national cybersecurity ecosystem platform.
The initiative was born to bring together and federate all cybersecurity players in Luxembourg as part of the national cybersecurity strategy, developed by the High Commission for National Protection (Haut-commissariat à la Protection nationale - HCPN) in partnership with Luxinnovation and SECURITYMADEIN.LU.
To strengthen the promotion of this ecosystem, a dedicated brand has been created and the CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg Ecosystem platform has now officially launched.
This unique platform makes available the vast expertise, product and service offerings of the CYBERSECURITY Luxembourg ecosystem, by gathering over 300 players divided into three main sectors:
Private Sector: private companies that offer services and solutions in the field of cybersecurity;
Public Sector: authorities and regulators in charge or involved in the application of the regulations applying to the sector, organisations involved in education and research, and sectoral public-private partnerships;
Civil Society: organisations that bring together collective strengths to address cybersecurity topics.
Since cybersecurity is a key asset for a flourishing digital economy and has become a pillar of the national economic development strategy in the last 20 years, more features will be added to the platform in the coming months and further steps will be taken to further position Luxembourg as a key player in Europe and internationally in the field of cybersecurity.

SPAMBEE is a tool that allows you to easily handle suspicious emails and notify them to experts who will make a complete diagnosis of each transmitted email. Once processed, these emails will feed a database of senders to ban. This "blacklist" will be shared with all SPAMBEE users. In this way the anti-spam filter will be enhanced thanks to the participation of each user.

Depuis le 2 avril, toute personne ayant reçu une ou deux doses dans le cadre de la campagne de vaccination gouvernementale peut télécharger un certificat de vaccination sur myguichet.lu.
Un certificat de vaccination peut désormais être téléchargé via l’espace privé myguichet.lu par les personnes qui ont reçu une injection, que ce soit suite à la première ou à la deuxième dose de vaccin, a annoncé, mardi, le ministère de la Santé par communiqué. Cette possibilité est d’ailleurs ouverte depuis le 2 avril.
Doté d’un code GouvCheck pour justifier l’authenticité du certificat, celui-ci prouve «la vaccination dans le cadre de la campagne de vaccination Covid-19 organisée par le gouvernement luxembourgeois», précise le ministère de la Santé. «Wir sprechen regelmäßig über Apps, künstliche Intelligenz, Blockchain, aber unser Ehrgeiz ist es, mit allen oder zumindest der großen Mehrheit der Bevölkerung voranzukommen», sagte Marc Hansen (DP), Beigeordneter Minister für Digitalisierung, am Montag bei der Vorstellung der Zusammenarbeit mit der gemeinnützigen Organisation Erwuessebildung. Das Projekt zielt darauf ab, der Bevölkerung Schulungen im digitalen Bereich anzubieten.
Konkret wird Erwuessebildung «Anfang September mit der Ausbildung des Lehrpersonals beginnen», erklärt ihr Präsident Pit Péporté. Die Kosten für die Kurse werden sich im einstelligen Bereich bewegen, Hansen spricht von «symbolischen» Beträgen von «etwa drei Euro pro Stunde». In order to support Luxembourg's objective of continuing to be a digital leader and to contribute to strengthening resilience in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel and Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai announced the launch of a partnership in the field of online training. Licences for "Google Career Certificates" will be made available to allow job seekers to improve their digital knowledge, among other things. They will be distributed through the University of Luxembourg Competence Centre (ULCC), with the support of the ADEM employment agency, the National Reception Office (Office national de l'accueil - ONA) and the National Social Inclusion Office (Office national d'inclusion sociale - ONIS). In addition, licences for the "Grow with Google" programme will allow small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to train more in electronic commerce and marketing, through the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce and its House of Entrepreneurship.
Prime Minister Xavier Bettel highlighted that “Luxembourg is delighted with this cooperation in the field of digital training. This is further proof of the government's relentless commitment to sustainable and inclusive digital transformation. Luxembourg has been able to create in recent years an environment very favourable to digital innovation, without ever forgetting the human aspect, which we put at the centre of our reflections on digitalisation".
Finally, Luxembourg's Prime Minister and Sundar Pichai touched on other topics such as the data centre in Bissen, which is currently following administrative procedures, as well as the interest of both parties in analysing other project opportunities to be developed. Juste avant 15h ce lundi, le Grand-Duc Henri a appuyé sur le gros bouton rouge, dans les locaux d’IEE à Bissen, pour marquer le lancement de Meluxina, le HPC du Luxembourg. L’infrastructure de 30,4 millions d’euros est née d’une volonté politique exprimée il y a cinq ans.
«Meluxina va pouvoir commencer à nager.» Le Premier ministre, Xavier Bettel (DP), lâche un petit éclat de rire très bref, assumant la référence du nom du HPC à l’histoire de l’origine du Luxembourg et de l’amour entre le comte Siegfried de Luxembourg et la sirène Mélusine. Dans les locaux d’IEE, ce lundi, le chef du gouvernement se félicite de «l’accomplissement d’une tâche que nous nous étions tous donnée il y a trois ans. Mission accomplie!»
L’occasion est belle pour le Premier ministre de rappeler qu’une fois encore, le Luxembourg en profite pour se renouveler, comme il a su le faire après la sidérurgie, après le développement des services financiers et après «l’extraction dans l’espace». «Le passage au chèque électronique en 2021 était une étape évidente dans le contexte actuel, sujet sur lequel nous travaillons depuis quelques années déjà», a commenté la directrice opérationnelle de Sodexo Benefits and Rewards, Sylvie Favaut. «Notre équipe a mis en place toutes les ressources nécessaires pour assister les entreprises, les commerçants et les consommateurs dans cette transition qui sera facile et qui pourra être réalisée rapidement. On Tuesday 4 May 2021, His Royal Highness the Hereditary Grand Duke and Luxembourg's Minister of the Economy, Franz Fayot, visited the premises of SECURITYMADEIN.LU, the Cybersecurity Agency for the Luxembourg Economy and Municipalities.
After a general presentation of the agency's activities,the Hereditary Grand Duke and the Economy Minister attended demonstrations including a scenario in ROOM#42, a cyber crisis simulator that allows teams participating in such an exercise to identify areas for improvement in order to consolidate their collective competence in crisis management.
A pillar of economic attractiveness for Luxembourg, "cybersecurity is fundamental to the development of a trusted digital economy" recalled Minister Franz Fayot, who congratulated Pascal Steichen, CEO of SECURITYMADEIN. LU, and his team for the work carried out in investigating and responding to incidents on the one hand and in supporting Luxembourg companies for better prevention and management of cyber risk on the other.
François Thill, Cybersecurity Director at the Ministry of the Economy and Chairman of the Board of Directors of SECURITYMADEIN.LU, thanked the government for its continued support in the development of cybersecurity in Luxembourg, allowing the country to position itself as a major player in Europe in this field.

L’utilisation des applications en nuage (angl. Cloud) ouvre au monde de l’Education nationale des possibilités inédites : proposer aux enseignants le meilleur de la technologie, pour explorer de nouvelles méthodologies d’apprentissage, travailler en équipe, suivre des cours à distance et se préparer au monde du travail de demain.
Mais le Cloud implique aussi des changements qui touchent à la protection des données personnelles et des systèmes d’information. Il suscite des interrogations sur la qualité des services, la sécurité, la fiabilité, la confidentialité etc. Ces questions ne sont pas seulement légitimes, elles sont critiques pour assurer le bon choix et la pérennité des services offerts aux écoles.

Alors que les conséquences sanitaires de la crise liée au Covid-19 sont encore loin d'être maîtrisées, Dan Kersch, le ministre du Travail, de l’Emploi et de l’Économie sociale et solidaire prend d'ores et déjà les devants pour «soutenir l'employabilité des salariés en chômage partiel». Il a annoncé plusieurs mesures, ce lundi 19 avril 2021, lors d'une conférence de presse organisée à Luxembourg-Ville.
Si vous étiez au chômage partiel du 1er janvier au 31 mars 2021, vous allez pouvoir bénéficier d'une formation continue dans le domaine du digital, a indiqué le ministre. Avec un bon d'une valeur de 500 euros à télécharger sur Guichet.Lu, les intéressés pourront ainsi choisir parmi 240 formations en ligne proposées par 34 centres de formation reconnus à travers le Grand-Duché. À peine remis sur pied après un test Covid, le Premier ministre Xavier Bettel (DP), en contact avec le président français Emmanuel Macron lors du dernier sommet européen, a annoncé la possibilité de s’inscrire à Elements of AI, le très bon programme de formation finlandais.
58.000 étudiants de 170 pays, dont 40% de femmes, ont déjà suivi Elements of AI . Recommandé sous la présidence finlandaise de l’Union européenne, en 2019, pour acquérir les bases de l’intelligence artificielle, le cours en ligne gratuit développé par l’université d’Helsinki et la société finlandaise Reaktor est ouvert aux Luxembourgeois, qu’ils soient résidents, frontaliers, fonctionnaires ou salariés du privé, indique le Premier ministre, Xavier Bettel (DP), dans un communiqué ce vendredi. This 18th of December, Prime Minister Xavier Bettel launched the Luxembourg equivalent of the highly acclaimed “Elements of AI” online course for students, civil servants, businesses and the global community – thanks to the Finnish government’s leadership in digital skills.
“Elements of AI” allows to understand and harness the potential of artificial intelligence. It is designed to encourage everyone, regardless of age or educational background to learn what AI is, what can (and can’t) be done with AI, and how to start creating AI methods. Le ministre de l’Éducation nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse, Claude Meisch, a profité du lancement de la Semaine européenne du code, le 12 octobre 2020, pour présenter le projet « Einfach kodéieren » (coder, tout simplement) qui introduit progressivement le coding dans l’enseignement de l'école luxembourgeoise.
Depuis septembre 2020, au cycle 4, les compétences en coding sont développées conjointement avec les compétences en mathématiques. En 2021-2022, elles feront partie des compétences testées lors des épreuves communes organisées dans le cadre de la procédure d’orientation vers l’enseignement secondaire.
À partir de la rentrée 2021, le coding fera aussi son apparition dans les cycles 1 à 3, de manière transversale.
Le ministre s’est réjoui de ce premier pas vers une nouvelle matière d’enseignement, qui participe à combler le fossé digital entre l’école et la société en rapide évolution. « J’ai voulu cette réforme pour assurer que chaque enfant et jeune puissent acquérir les compétences pour comprendre le monde digital et y jouer un rôle actif. Le coding est la langue du 21e siècle ! » a affirmé le ministre.
Apprendre cette « nouvelle langue » revient à mobiliser les capacités de l’élève à réduire un problème complexe à une série de problèmes simples. Cette façon de penser, aussi appelée pensée computationnelle, peut être enseignée de façon ludique, adaptée à l’âge de l’enfant, le plus souvent sans même utiliser d’écran digital.
L’introduction du coding dans l’enseignement est basée sur les expériences engrangées au cours des deux dernières années dans 36 classes pilotes.
Si l’objectif n’est pas de former de futurs programmateurs, le coding à l’école pourrait bien éveiller des vocations vers un secteur porteur de métiers d’avenir. At a press conference on Monday, Marc Hansen, Luxembourg's Minister Delegate for Digitalisation, and Pit Peporté, President of the non-profit organisation ErwuesseBildung (EwB), presented the digital skills training courses for adults developed in the context of an agreement signed in February between the two parties.
Through this agreement, the Ministry of Digitalisation aims to support individuals who experience difficulties in the face of new technologies and the changes they bring to their lives, for example regarding state services.
“We are committed to continuing to provide citizens with traditional channels of communication with the state. However, for those who wish to go digital, it is essential to give them the means to develop their digital skills which will guarantee a correct and safe use of these new tools”, commented Minister Marc Hansen.
