Le ministre de l'Éducation nationale, de l'Enfance et de la Jeunesse, Claude Meisch, et la secrétaire d’État à l’Économie, Francine Closener, ont présenté le 7 novembre 2016 le projet "Promotion de l'entrepreneuriat à l'enseignement secondaire".

Il s’agit de favoriser l'émergence d’"entrepreneurial schools" au Luxembourg, c'est-à-dire de lycées qui ne favorisent pas seulement le lien avec le monde économique et social qui les entoure, mais qui amènent aussi les élèves à développer les compétences transversales leur permettant de s'engager à l'avenir à travers des défis entrepreneuriaux.

L’ambition du Gouvernement est de renforcer et de consolider à terme la position du Luxembourg dans le domaine des technologies de l’information et de la communication TIC. C’est pourquoi le Ministère de l’Education nationale, de l’Enfance et de la Jeunesse s’est doté d’une stratégie numérique cohérente pour l’éducation nationale, à savoir « Digital (4) Education ». En effet, les TIC sont un outil puissant qui peut changer la façon dont les enseignants enseignent et comment les élèves apprennent. C’est le numérique qui permet de diversifier les méthodes d’apprentissage et d’adapter l’enseignement aux besoins et au rythme de chaque élève.

Dans ce cadre, le CGIE vient de publier un premier guide intitulé « Classes mobiles et connectées » qui s’inscrit dans le programme « Digital (4) Education » . Ce guide traite surtout des stratégies de mise en œuvre technologique de l’apprentissage mobile et s’adresse primordialement aux directions des établissements secondaires ainsi qu’aux enseignants qui encadrent un projet d’innovation pédagogique intégrant les TIC en salle de classe.

Der Industrieanlagenbauer Paul Wurth zeichnete vergangenes Jahr verantwortlich, das Konzept der „Inkubatoren“ auch nach Luxemburg-Stadt zu bringen. Im Dezember 2015 unterzeichnete der Konzern eine Kooperation mit dem Wirtschaftsministerium, um neue innovative Betriebe aus unterschiedlichen Sektoren anzulocken.

Luxembourg is to create a cybersecurity centre in 2017 to further information security in the public and private sector, it was announced on Tuesday.

The aim of the centre would be to increase the competitive advantage of Luxembourg cybersecurity in the short term and in the medium term contribute to the development of ecosystems in areas like the Internet of Things, space technology and FinTech.

The initiative was announced by Secretary of State for the Economy Francine Closener at the first edition of the "Cybersecurity Day" on Tuesday.

On Tuesday 11 October 2016, Luxembourg’s National Commission for Data Protection (CNPD) and the Service for Media and Communication (SMC) held a conference on the main changes stemming from new data protection regulation.

The conference marked the start of a series of events especially designed in the framework of the Digital Lëtzebuerg initiative with the aim of presenting the new regulation to those concerned and guiding them in its implementation.

More than 500 people attended the conference at the Maison du Savoir at Esch-Belval, where the Prime Minister and Minister of Media and Communication, Xavier Bettel, discussed the challenges and opportunities provided by the new European regulation for Luxembourg. PM Bettel referred to it as “an adaptation to a new world, a world where technological innovation allows for important advances while also guaranteeing the respect of our fundamental principles.”

These new laws, which replace the 1995 directive of the same nature, will be directly applicable in all Member states of the European Union from 25 May 2018. The new regulation aims to give citizens more control over their personal data, give more responsibility to businesses whilst reducing their administrative costs, and also reinforcing the role of data protection authorities like CNPD.

On Thursday 6 October 2016, Luxembourg's House of Entrepreneurship was inaugurated in Luxembourg-Kirchberg.

Located in front of the Chamber of Commerce, and direct neighbour of the House of Finance, the new home of entrepreneurship has been given the mandate to operate as a one-stop shop offering customised consulting assistance to all project developers wishing to embark on the adventure of creating a business, as well as all the already active entrepreneurs wishing to develop or sell their business.

Dans le cadre du mois européen de la cybersécurité (ECSM), l’Agence européenne chargée de la sécurité des réseaux et de l’information (ENISA) organise pour la 5ème année consécutive une campagne de sensibilisation internationale menée par des acteurs publics et privés en Europe pour promouvoir un usage responsable des nouvelles technologies.

Quels types de pièges sont les plus fréquents pour les citoyens ? Comment les reconnaître ? Danièle Bisdorff, direction du commerce électronique et de la sécurité de l’information au ministère de l’Economie parlera des activités de sensibilisation menées au Luxembourg et dans d’autres pays membres. Pascal Steichen, directeur de SECURITYMADEIN.LU, abordera plus précisément le sujet de l’hameçonnage (phishing), un type d’arnaque de plus en plus sophistiqué et très répandu dans la société digitale.

On Monday 3 October 2016, hundreds of Luxembourgish SMEs attended Security Made in Luxembourg’s first ever #Cybersecurity4Success event.

The one-day event took place as part of the European Month of Cybersecurity in the premises of the Chamber of Commerce as part of the governmental initiative “Digital Luxembourg”. The day was organised by Security Made in Luxembourg in collaboration with the Representative of the European Commission in Luxembourg, the Chamber of Commerce and its Enterprise Europe Network as well as the House of Training.

The awareness event allowed participants to consult experts in cybersecurity in order to gain practical advice and recommendations for better handling security risks in their businesses.

The Chamber of Commerce’s Managing Director Carlo Thelen referred to the implementation of an information security policy as a major component of business strategy, especially for SMEs.
