Empathy vs. sympathy
Empathy is feeling with people; a choice to:
- take the perspective of another/recognise it as their truth,
- stay out of judgment,
- recognise emotion in others and communicate that.
It isn't trying to put on a silver lining or provide a solution.
'Rarely can a response make something better. What makes something better is connection'.
