Le BONHEUR comme indice d'épanouissement social et économique.

This team aims at approaching a combinination of philosophical reflection with artistic practice. To have a common, serious and workable base of discussion, the main focus will be on a perspective based on the insights of the so called »(post-) analytical« philosophy, in contrast to phenomenological positions (though these are still quite popular in the field of art »theory«). Particularly, the research focus will be aimed at a discussion of the use of »symbol-systems«, like language or non-propositional systems (i.e. images). Also from particular interest will be the problem of the development of »the Self«, and subsequently, the question of the relationship between »the Self« and society, regarding the use of symbol-systems (or better, sign-systems). Right now, I personally work on the relationships between (artistic) experimentation related to aspects of the practice of (zen-) buddhism (upcoming talk october 25th: »experimentation, experience of the alien, and mysticism«, at the conference »art and the experience of the alien« (difficult to translate): Kunst und Fremderfahrung). Related philosophers: Wittgenstein, Ernst Tugendhat, Arno Ros, Nelson Goodman, Jürgen Habermas, G.H. Mead, ... as an outstanding resource for the philosophical discussion we could use the excellent Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy: Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy ... more particularly would be from basic interest i.e. the work of Nelson Goodman: Goodman's Aesthetics Members :
