Collaboration can be both a formal structure for learning activity but also an underpinning framework for engagement and fostering life-long learning. Learning networks are part the new learning ecosystem and should be recognised and supported.

I have rehearsed this scenario before, but try to imagine we live in a world where printed media had not been invented, and our only source of information and entertainment was the Internet.
And then someone came up with a really smart idea, and gathered together a group of really clever people, got them to sift through the mass of information that's freely available in digital form, decide what's important and what's not, what you can trust and what you can't, and put it all together in a thing called a newspaper, which can be delivered to your very home.
It's portable, it's not dependent on a wireless connection and, for many, there is also an intrinsic pleasure in turning over the pages. I posit this idea not to promote the virtue of newspapers, but to illustrate my growing feeling that one of the most prized - and undervalued - commodities in the modern world is curation.

Er staan een aantal links in die het vragen om even bekeken te worden. Toch weer jammer dat Microsoft Office's onderdeel OneNote niet genoemd wordt. Daar de office pakketten op vrijwel alle pc's van jongeren staan vormt dit een zeer goed (gratis) alternatief voor Evernote.

This is a post from August 2010 but found it to be really interesting with some good points for curators. Yes, you can use Twitter for curation.
The author talks about mixing content that your audience will find interesting similar to a DJ. "As a Content Curator, you should be entertaining."
1. First realized that you ARE a subject matter expert. 2. Know your market. 3. Search via hashtags and alerts. 4. Know the "Power of Three" to effectively engage. 5. Know that how you write your tweets is just as important as what you are tweeting. 6. Elevate your peers. 7. Develop good taste! 8. Become a valued resource to your community. 9. Be the good news channel. 10. Know "when" to tweet. 11. Become part of a bigger conversation. 12. Follow industry conferences. 13. Understand there are differences if you curate for a global audience. 14. Content Curators need to follow a lot of people. 15. Curate Twitter lists that others will want to follow. 16. Become a trusted resource. 17. Track your results.
