Pod2g untethered jailbreak iPhone3G iPhone3GS will not work on iOS 5.1.1 unthethered jailbreak. Earlier today Pod2g announced that his upcoming untethered jailbreak will work on all devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad3. Just now pod2g tweeted that after testing on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS , it appears that the untethered jailbreak will not work on iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS. However, those iPhone 3GS which are having old bootrom can still be jailbroken with the upcoming untethered jailbreak from pod2g.
Here is what Pod2g updated on his blog just now:
As I already said on twitter, iPod 3G and iPhone 3GS won't be compatible with the upcoming jailbreak.
Next tests on my list :
- iPhone 4S
- iPad 2 Pod2g has tested the jailbreak method on iPhone 3G and 3GS and seems like his jailbreak method does not work on these devices. Nex, Pod2g would be testing on iPhone4S and iPad2 and we really hope that his untethered jailbreak works on these devices as there are many people out there waiting for him to release an untethered jailbreak so that they can break free their devices and enjoy Cydia tweaks and themese.

Tiny Umbrella is a very handy tool that allows you to save your shsh blobs that are required for every restore. Apple generates unique encrypted signatures for every iPhone, iPod and iPad that is updated or restored using iTunes. Since these are encrypted, there is no way to decry-pt them as Apple alone has the decryption keys which Apple releases on every restore. If any new firmware has released, Apple over a period of times stops generating these keys for older firmware which means if you try to install an older firmware through iTunes, iTunes will throw an error as Apple refuses to issue the keys for older firmware.

Redsn0w Jailbreak Tool Update will support downgrading of iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and The new iPad 3. iPhone Dev-Team member Musclenerd announced that the next update for redsn0w will downgrade A5 devices, iPhone 4S, iPad 2 and the new iPad 3. However downgrading would only be possible if the shsh blobs are saved. Earlier, iH8Sn0w also tweeted that he has discoved a method of downgrading A5 devices that includes iPhone 4S iPad 2 and iPad 3. However, the method followd by iPhone Dev-Team assures that none of Apple's copyrighted code has been used in the downgrade process. This downgrade method will help iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users who have their SHSH Blobs saved to downgrade to iOS 5.0.1 for an untethered jailbreak.

This will ensure confidence among people that even if I jailbreak my device and lose Apple's warrany, I can sign up for Sqare Trade for $60 to get warranty cover for my iPhone. This will however not eliminate the risk of jailbreak but will entrust non jailbreak users to go ahead with the jailbreak. Jailbreaking is fun and you can install various themes and tweaks on your device. You can change the entire UI of your iPhone by installing Winterboard themes or Dreamboard themes which will give you a look of Android, windows, Blakberry themes. iOS 5.1 Jailbreak release delayed. 5.1 untethered jailbreak release postponed. iPhone 4S 5.1 jailbreak delayed. Today Pod2g tweeter on his twitter account that final public release of iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak would be after atleast a month or two. The reason why Chronic Dev-Team could not release 5.1 jailbreak is because there are several pieces of puzzle which need to go in the right place and once the jailbreak team fixed the puzzle, there would be an official announcement of iOS 5.1 untethered jailbreak.

Pod2g has just updated his blog with the latest information on which devices will the jailbreak support. Pod2g has been working on iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak even before it was released. Pod2g initially started working on an untethered jailbreak for iPad3 right after the initial release. At that time, iOS 5.1 was released and by the time iOS 5.1.1 was released, Pod2g was almost done and his jailbreak was tested oniPad2 and iPad3.

Pod2g has confirmed that his upcoming untethered jailbreak works well on iPhone4S. Earlier today pod2g made a blog post answering frequently asked questions about untethered jailbreak. He mentioned in his blog post that iOS 5.1.1 untethered jailbreak will work on all devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad 3. These devices are new and they have A5 chips which are not vulnerable to Limera1n's bootrom level exploit. Pod2g also mentioned that untethered jailbreak would be released in a couple of weeks as he's testing the jailbreak tool on all the devices including iPhone4S, iPad2 and iPad3. Pod2g also mentioned that the jailbreak release is getting delayed because the team is trying to make a user friendly interface which can be used by any one who wishes to jailbreak their device. After making the above post, pod2g made another post saying that his untethered jailbreak does not work on iPhone3G and iPhone3GS. However those iPhone3GS which are on older bootrom can still be jailbroken. This certainly made iPhone 3GS users sad as they were expecting an untethered jailbreak soon to break free their iPhones. Pod2g also mentioned that he'd be testing iPhone4S and iPad 2 next and here is an update about iPhone4S untethered jailbreak testing.

Redsn0w download jailbreak software update, Redsn0w 0.9.10b8b update released. Earlier Today, the iPhone Dev-Team released an update to the popular jailbreak tool, Redsn0w. The update basically makes the zip files more compatible with the native windows explorer which otherwise doesn't go well with slashes in filenames. The update doesn't add any new jailbreak for iOS 5.1. Redsn0w supports tethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1. If you are already on tethered mode there is no such necessity to re-jailbreak your device. The update is for windows users only and there has been no noticeable update in the Mac veresion of Redsn0w. Update Log
Update #3b: The 0.9.10b8b update to redsn0w makes the zip files more compatible with the native Windows explorer (which doesn’t like leading slashes in the filenames).

How to downgrade iphone, iOS 5.1 downgrade, downgrade 5.1 to 5.0.1. How to get iOS 5.0.1 from 5.1. This tutorial will help your downgrade your iPhone firmware from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1. Apple released iOS 5.1 a month ago and those who have accidentally updated their iPhones to iOS 5.1 and lost the jailbreak. There is however a tethered jailbreak available for iOS 5.1 but if you don't like plugging in your iPhone every time your iPhone reboots, then you can downgrade your firmware from iOS 5.1 to iOS 5.0.1. There are certain limitations however. To be able to downgrade your iPhone, you need to have your device's shshs blobs saved. One way to check is, launch Cydia and if you see SHSH saved for iOS 5.0.1 on the home page of Cydia then you can downgrade your iPhone. If you don't see shsh information, then DO NOT PROCEED. IMP: This method of downgrading an iPhone works only if you have saved shsh blobs. One way to check this would be to launch Cydia and if Cydia shows

Apple released iOS 5.1 along with the release of The New iPad. iOS 5.1 has some major updates like Siri supporting Japanese language and some security updates. We have already discussed the redsn0w method of jailbreaking iOS 5.1 devices. Earlier we have discussed that iH8sn0w has managed to downgrade iPad 2 firmware from iOS 5.1 to 5.0.1. iH8sn0w has recently updated Sn0wbreeze to 2.9.3 which now support iOS 5.1 tethered jailbreak. This version of iH8sn0w includes many updates: Sn0wbreeze 2.9.3 Features : Brought back old firmware support in one release!
