Clair Farley, a prominent trans writer and activist, is the director of economic development at the San Francisco LGBT Center. Her experience transitioning into a woman was featured in the award-winning documentary film “Red Without Blue.” For most of the past decade, Farley has been focused on increasing economic opportunity for LGBTQ people, who often face barriers and discrimination in the job market and when attempting to access social services. Last year, she spearheaded the center’s Hire Trans Campaign, which featured people from across the gender spectrum, to increase trans visibility in the workplace.
