'Homos, or Everyone in America' review: Jordan Seavey's 'post-gay' relationship drama is brilliantly provocative | #ILoveGay | Scoop.it

It’s odd not being fully seen, isn’t it? ‘Homos, or Everyone in America’ is staged in-the-round, with the audience sat right on the edge of the performance space. Yet no matter how close we might feel to the male gay couple at the center of this story, the actors refuse to acknowledge our presence. For all the warmth and laughter generated by this brilliantly provocative modern-day romance, an invisible wall remains between ‘us’ and ‘them’.

There was something rather inspiring earlier this month about the collective voice of the transgender community being heard above the roar of the millions of Hollywood dollars swirling around Scarlett Johansson’s new film Rub and Tug.  Johansson had been confirmed to play transgender man and crime kingpin Dante “Tex” Gill, a rare trans role once again lost to a cisgender actor, and the community was not happy.

Members of the world’s first all-gay rugby club have revealed how they overcame prejudice to become a heavyweight in Rugby Union, and how they advocate LGBTQ rights in London. The King's Cross Steelers were founded in 1995 in a pub called Central Station in King's Cross. Since their humble beginnings the club has gone from a team of six to having 120 members.
