‘Add to Music App’ is a big deal for TikTok. It’s the feature that enables its users to save a song they discover on TikTok to their playlists and libraries on streaming services including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music and YouTube Music.
It’s a big deal because it’s TikTok’s attempt to show that discovery on its app can convert into streams, follows and fandom elsewhere – pushing back on critics that suggest it can’t.
Is there proof? Today TikTok has announced a Big Number to that end. It says that ‘Add to Music App’ has been used to save more than 6bn tracks to premium music-streaming services during the last 12 months. Half a billion saves a month, on average.

A bitter side dispute in the blockbuster antitrust case against Live Nation Entertainment and its subsidiary Ticketmaster has escalated into a showdown over potential sanctions.
In a newly filed response to an order to show cause, AEG argues it acted “lawfully, ethically, and appropriately” when it provided confidential employment documents about former executive Rick Mueller to government lawyers — insisting the entire sanctions dispute rests on a “false premise” that it violated California law.

A new artist discovery platform for agents, managers, and promoters, known as BandPitch, has been launched by Danish company VIP Booking.
The platform uses VIP Booking’s global network of over 22,000 verified agents, managers and bookers, and says it can “reduce noise, cut time spent filtering submissions, and increase the relevance of artist opportunities presented to users” by letting artists pitch their act to them through the site.
The network covers professionals working at venues and festivals, as well as managers, helping industry professionals identify artists that better match their specific needs.
This includes approximately 6,500 booking agents, 2,500 artist managers, 3,000 festival bookers, and 10,000 club bookers.

Indie promoter Jim Cressman of Invictus Entertainment, an independent concert promotion company based in Penticton, British Columbia, says Live Nation muscled its way into a Jonas Brothers stadium show he had booked in Moncton, New Brunswick, taking over the date after he had confirmed the show with United Talent Agency.
Cressman said the takeover is the latest example of Live Nation using its size and scale to push a promoter out of a fairly fought and won opportunity in Canada, where the company dominates the market. Unlike in the U.S., where Live Nation competes against the much smaller AEG Presents, Live Nation is the largest promoter in Canada with no real rival.

The service connects artists with agents, managers, promoters and bookers at clubs and festivals, helping industry professionals identify artists that better match their specific needs. Streaming was once the greatest fear of record producers—until Spotify arrived, offering instant, legal listening that outsmarted piracy and stabilized a rattled industry.
Founded in 2006, launched in 2008 and expanded to the U.S. in 2011, Spotify turned access-by-app into how millions relate to music. Now approaching 20, its story extends well beyond songs. The company says it has "revolutionized music listening," "brought innovation" through podcasting, and that its 2022 move into audiobooks—competing directly with Amazon and Audible—was "the next leap."
