Today, Google’s Vic Gundotra announced that he would be leaving the company after eight years. The first obvious question is where this leaves Google+,.. One big change for Google+ is that there will no longer be a policy of “required” Google+ integrations for Google products, something that has become de rigueur for most product updates. One impetus of this was that the YouTube integration with Google+ did not go well, something that the public recognized through the comments blowback, but that was also seen inside the company as a rocky move. . In the long run, the issues with Google+ didn’t especially stem from the design of the product itself, but more from the way it interjected itself into your day-to-day Google experience like some unwelcome hairy spider. Perhaps these changes will scale back the grating party crashing? .

It’s easy to see how a free tool that connects you to your students can be helpful. But Google+ is not something you simply pick up and assume everyone knows how to use. In fact, I’d recommend making sure everyone you want to speak with actually has an account first!

Google+ is shutting down at last. Google announced today it’s sunsetting its consumer-facing social network due to lack of user and developer adoption, low usage and engagement. Oh, and a data leak. It even revealed how poorly the network is performing, noting that 90 percent of Google+ user sessions are less than five seconds long. Yikes.

G+ is catching up big time for many reasons. Among these reasons is the Hangout integration.
We just facilitated a remote 1.5 day leadership development session with Hangouts and it was fantastic.
Google is sticking to their strategy and their value is starting to win people over. I was never a fan and, through valuable features, I am changing my perspective on the suite of offerings.
