Big Sean’s NO FAVOR ft Eminem crushed the itunes charts this week (they are really waiting for a new Eminem cut…) This cut is a core hiphop mixtape cut and it will be a fan favorite…

Sage The Gemini NOW AND LATER- Sage The Gemini is a master at making these type of cuts (college dance grooves…) and this one is just as hot (with the classic Now&Later candy title for the hook…)  This cut works.   It made great moves on itunes getting in the top 100 at #55…

Travis Scott GOOSEBUMPS-  We were on this cut months ago (about 4 or 5…) and its just getting traction ( #101 on itunes…)  This is a great street, mixtape and club cut…

Khalid LOCATION-  This is a cool ballad groove cut (radio will have to deliver this one…).  It really needs a dance mix to broaden its base…

William Sing RUSH-  William Sing is what I call the cover king on soundcloud (this dude can sing…).  Now he has his own cut and it came in at #221 on itunes (which is his highest charting cut to date).  This guy deserve it, he put in the work…

Migos T SHIRT- This new Migos is really trending in urban radio (P3’ and P4 markets…)  This cut is showing a strong potential of being The Migos next hit…

• Polow Da Don WET ft Bando Jones & Saint Laron (17.5pts/40pts) grade C This one definitely could be a creeper (this is a good cut).  Bando Jonez just has a great voice for this kind of cut.  Product push will determine this cuts fate (it won’t happen without the right push…) #Wet
• Mack Benton TRIPPIN (16.7pts/40pts) grade C This cut scored high for this street indie but this dude Mack Benton is the truth.   This cut is a ballad but Mack’s voice still carries this cut even in a dance mix form.  Good things are coming for this artist (female demos are gonna love this cat when he kicks in #frfr).  #Trippin
• Tory Lanez SLOW GRIND (18.2pts/40pts) grade C This cut was made for the strip clubs and could very well be Tory Lanez next hit.  Dj’s are gonna like this cut  so the sales will tell the story… #SlowGrind
• Wiz Khalifa BOMBAY & LEMONADE ft Juicy J & Chevy Woods This one premiered on Worldstar and trended.  The Dj’s will eventually feel this cut cause it mixes well and it’s just a great club cut (it seems like someone is waiting for that sponsor money to come in on the promotions #lsmh)… #BombayAndLemonade
• Marq Dean FRIENDS WITH BENEFITS (13.8pts/40pts) grade D This is a great mixtape cut as Marq Dean provides us with this dance interlude cut.  Marq Dean is primed to do this hiphouse movement… #FriendsWithBenefits
• Soulja Boy KISS ME THRU THE PHONE ft Sammy (13.1pts/40pts) grade D Soulja Boy has a good cut with this cut (even though it 7 years old).  It seems like they are trying to prime it to be another challenge cut ( #KissMeThruThePhoneChallenge)  The dancer will like this one… #KissMeThruThePhone
• Dae Dae SPEND IT (remix) ft Young Thug & Young M.a. (22.4pts/40pts) grade C This remix of the Dae Dae hit now loaded with trending starpower.  Young Thug and Young M.a. bring a whole different energy to this cut… #Spend It

The Weeknd is back and with a bang.  This new cut ‘STARBOY’ is already selling over 19,000 downloads a day (now that’s fan support).  This groove (right at 93 bpms), is a funky dance grove in the Daft Punk tradition (everyone knew this marriage was in the making…).  The WeekNd once again ride the track as he dominates the hookah music genre with his Tumblr template music format (and it works…)

Sevyn Streeter is a talent.  Gucci Mane is an icon.  ‘Prolly’ is a hit.  This new cut by Sevyn Streeter is a hot new groove and Streeter delivers (she sound a lot like Rihanna on this cut #Ijs).  Here’s the stats

• Track- This cut is a nice hookah groove (like I said it sounds like this is a Rihanna song)… 3.8 pts
• Performance- Sevyn always gives a great performance.  She has the type of voice that’s very urban radio friendly.  Gucci Mane locks the track in with some classic Gucci bars (man it seems everyone’s trying to get Gucci to feature…)… 4.3 pts
• Muscle- It’s still early on this one but the streets and online are gonna love this cut.  The streets because of Gucci and online because it’s gonna be an RnB/Mixtape must add…3.6 pts
• Juice- Of course the stripclubs are gonna like this (and if they embrace it, it will surely be a hit) and urban radio will kick in if the other 3 segments (streets, online & clubs) give this new cut legs… 3.1 pts
• Demographic- Girls are gonna rock this cut and this will be a young bait cut.  Gucci Mane will draw enough youth interest (12-17 m/f) and if the cut catches legs then the young Demo (18-25) will show up… 2.8 pts
• Hitfactor- Come On its Gucci. But for real for real, this is a great cut a and it may organically do its thing…3.3 pts

Man I really love it when an artist comes along that has the music that rises above all the other music styles at the time and it’s even better when no one see it coming.  Dreezy work is for real and she definitely blended her style of rapping and singing in a very marketable and brandable package.  What she’s done best although is that she speaks for her generation and all her cuts sound like phone calls to her girlfriends or snapchat conversations (and that’s important for this generation).  Dreezy and her label team have done a great job of blending the music and the online environments to create at real market for this young lady.  Here’s what’s on the mix…

• Dreezy CLOSE TO YOU ft T-Pain- This cut was a total surprise for me as a dj. This cut has a great summer feel.  This is definitely one of those dj wow cuts.  T-Pain delivers again… #CrateGold
• Tory Lanez LUV- One of the hottest cuts out now with the hiphop/dancehall groove. It’s been a great summer for these cuts… #DjsLuvThisOne
• The Game ALL EYES ft Jeremih- Another great find. The Game and Kevin Gates are finding real money shots with these kinds of cuts.  This one works…#GottaGetIt
• Marq Dean FWB (FriendsWithBenefits)- Marq once again brings us some of his new music.  This FWB is that groove phone call (mixdjs love these kind of tracks as transition blends).  Marq continue to let folks know he is on the way… #TheMarqDeanMovement
• Curren$y TAKE YOU THERE ft Marsha Ambrosius- What can I say this dude just keeps putting out the heat.  This cut with Marsha Ambrosius is a real hiphop/rnb blend and its hot.  This is a strong cut… DjMixtapeAlert
• Dreezy AFFORD MY LOVE ft Wale- All I can say about Dreezy is it seems that it’s her time #frfr. This cut with Wale is another cut that lets us know that this lady has more dimensions to her music to be heard. These jazzy grooves are hot (I wouldn’t be surprised if I saw a Rick Ross remix on this cut.  This cut sounds real MMG)… #ItsDreezysTime

Ok here at GetAtMe we decided to create a mix where we could give some new and interesting indie artist exposure to our dj’s (along with continuing to present the hottest new tracks we like). So this is GetAtMeDJAlert 5On5 (and these first 5 area great debuts.  I liked all of these cuts the more I heard them...)  Here’s the stats:

• We started out with Tory Lanez new cut ‘LUV’ (this dude’s music is the truth…). Tory Jumps into the summer dancehall groove movement while staying true to what he does (great song). He scored a 73.7 grade B
• Next we mixed in the new Dreezy ft TPain (this dude has done some great work lately #ThisIndustryShit #SMH) ‘CLOSE TO YOU’ . This is one of the best cut I’ve heard of late.  I sped it up and that gave it a real groove energy (djs are gonna love this cut and radio should also…).  It scored a 69.6 pts grade B.
• Next we mixed in a new hiphop indie act that’s getting a real underground buzz online Phil Simple ‘MS APPLEBAUM’. First it was brave to redo such a huge hiphop classic and also to transform it to 2016 (literally).  Phil Simple got down on this cut and djs are gonna like this remake of this hiphop classic (what’s in the water in Fayetteville NC.  First JCole and now Phil Simple #LSMH).  It scored a 66.2 pts (which is high due to this cuts lack of industry muscle and juice #IndiesTakeNote).  Grade B.
• The next cut mixed in was Yo Trane’s ‘LATE NIGHT DRIVE’. This cut Is a soundcloud driven cut but the industry hasn’t caught it yet.  This is a great cut and really deserves an ear (especially if you mixed in ‘UBER EVERYWHERE’ #lsmh).  Great hiphop/rnb cut and definitely a #DjAlert.  It scored a 64.2 pts and its grade was B.
• Now my surprise this issue was a cut I found in the threads. They were really only talking about how fine this artist was (and whether she could get it...) but they peaked my interest and that made me go take a listen to her music (and yes she is fine and can get it… #lsmh).  Now Jess Molli’s cut ‘IM WIT IT’ was a surprise (the more I heard it, the more I liked it…).  She has a potential stripclub banger (this song sounds a lot like Young Joc’s ‘ITS GOING DOWN’. Really… a lot) and it could mess around and get legs (all she gotta do is get a Gucci feature and this one’s gone #HintHint).  Hope she hears this (#LoudAndClear).  It scored a 52.8 pts but that was only because of her lack of industry muscle but if they position this cut right it could do things (this song could easily be a VINE VIRAL #HintHint if the strategy is executed correctly.  Now remember if this cut blows up, who said it first? #GetAtMe (sometime I gotta remind folks #lsmh).  Its grade is C.

In the words of Col. Hannibal Smith, “I love it when a plan comes together…” At a time when many folks who are working at the labels make very questionable plans and strategies concerning new music, man it’s a joy to see a plan that makes sense.  For the last year almost, Bruno Mars fans have been waiting (sometimes impatiently…) for the new Bruno Mars single FINESSE (what’s the holdup dude…?)  but I must say, in this case patience was truly rewarded because man, Cardi was meant to be on this song.

From the Teddy Riley throwback beat to the In Living Colors throwback look, everything about this song and situation was executed in the most impressive style by the label.  The perks of being a hit act.

This cut works, from the beat to the performance, the online and club community are gonna love this cut.  I’ve always told artists that your manager number 1 job is to find you a hit song.  Not a great song or a good song, but a hit song.  Why, because hit songs sell and sales create more sales and more revenue opportunities.  When you have a hit, the eating is good folks and this cut here is a hit.

Kudos to Bruno’s and Cardi’s people for having the the foresight to put these 2 superhot commodities on a superhot song.  Remember “there’s nothing wrong with the record business that a good record can’t cure…”

• Taylor Swift CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT (21.1pts/25pts) Taylor Swift just keeps dropping the hits of this album and now we’re at num 3..  CALL IT WHAT YOU WANT is a great cut and the dance beat undermix just made it ride more.  Pop music and dance music may become Taylors future genre blend… Streets 2 cool, mixtapes/online 2 cool, clubs 2 cool, radio 1 alright, (muscle 2 /juice 1) 1.5 alright- (29.5 total)l 29.5 total score

Well The Atlanta Falcons are on their way to the Superbowl and you know we here at GetAtMe had to make a Falcons mix.  We loaded it up with all the current hits starting with The Migos BAD AND BOUJEE (this cut is so hot right now… #TheStreetsLuvIt ).  We then went into OT Genesis PUSH IT (the energy on this club is crazy… #FRFR).  On the 3rd cut The BeatMakanixx RISEUP/WEDABOYS is blended in (this is what the dj single mix is about.  We blended together our RISE UP track/We Dem Boyz by Wiz Khalifa and RISE by Herb Alpert and it worked… #BeatMakanixxx).  The 4th cut is Wiz Khalifa WE DEM BOYZ (isn’t it crazy how an event can reenergize a cut that was out there…? #WeDemBoyz )  Then we brought in the current Drake hit FAKE LOVE (you gotta have Drake… #FakeLove) and that was followed by Gucci Mane and Drake BOTH (both of these cuts are current hot cut in the STREETS, MIXTAPE ONLINE, CLUBS and RADIO, all 4 corner of the industry right now…#ItsAHit)  We the go into Marq Dean’s RED CUP (you gotta have the RED CUP’S at all the tailgates… #MarqDeanMakinMoves )  We wind it up with the new Dae Dae SPEND IT remix ft Young Thug and Young M.a. Look I know I’m way early on this cut (and I hate being too early on a song without proven sales…) but when I heard this cut I just had to put my djs and readers up on it.  Tory Lanez has another one with this chopped version of T.L.C.’s SCRUBS  (TLC).  This is the 1st time I’ve heard a dude do an answer record to this song that was hot (really he delivered on this cut…)

In an industry that often (if not always…) celebrates who hot and who’s not, Tory reminds a young lady of the way he was treated before fame and that he never really forgot those feelings.  In a nutshell “I’m giving you the same business you gave me, just only in a different way…”

This chopped version is hot for mixtapes and will be rocking in the stripclubs (so now we have SCRUBS 2016…#LSMH).  This one’s definitely going in rotation…  #InTheMix #DjAlert

This new Usher ft Future is hot (come on its Usher).  The combination of Future and Usher works (I guess Future is the new Juicy J, “Feature King”… #IfItWorksItWorks).  This is another great groove track and Djs are gonna find it works (especially in the Hookah mixes…).  Here’s the stats: (6-Heat, 5-Hit, 4-Hot, 3-Cool, 2-Maybe,1-Awrite.  Scoring scale…)

• TRACK- 4.7 pts ($$$$.7) This is a great track with a haughtily grinding type groove. The melodic keyboard part really rides on the track… #InTheMix
• PERFOMANCE- 5.3 pts ($$$$$.7) Man Usher rides this track like a melodic drum part (he sounds like a well played keyboard part…). Future is used as an almost background accompaniment (like a Pip… #ItWorks).
• MUSCLE- 3.9 pts ($$$.9) The streets are gonna accept this when they hear it (if it doesn’t get bumped by a hotter cut in the process…). The cable video channels will help this cut greatly.  The mixtapes are gonna use this so the streets will determine the drive on this cut…
• JUICE- 4.0pts ($$$$) The club djs are gonna like this cut (like I said this cut can’t wait to be jukebox and hookah mix drivers…) Urban radio should show up on this one… #WellSee
• SONG- 5.2pts ($$$$.2) This song is a hit so it gonna be on the marketplaces taste for the moment. This is a great track but Usher has been on a couple of great track this year… #WellSee
• HITFACTOR- 4.2pts ($$$$.2) The adding of Future on this track was a gamble (can you imagine Kendrick Or J.Cole on this cut “ooohweee”). Taking nothing from Future but JCole would have taken this cut to whole nuther level with his story telling ability…#FRFR (I might have to do a special mix with a JCole verse on this track just to see…#NowThatsADj)
• TOTAL- 27.3pts/ 36pts Top (grade B) The only reason this cut gets a B is because I’m way early on this and recently it now taking 2 to 6 months for songs to break. So we’re gonna see if this cut will make it into the 4th Qtr sales cycle (it is Sept, the last month in the 3rd Qtr sales cycle so we’ll see…

• JamesTheMorman ‘MOTIVATION’- Man this cut was the real surprise, as soon as I heard this, the Dj in me was like “Oooh Wee”. The name caught my attention but this cut is hot (this dude sound a lot like Sage The Gemini.  This must be a west coast thing)… #JamesTheMorman #Motivation #DjAlert
• Jess Molli ‘IM WITH IT’- This lady also surprised me. She was featured in a thread as a video honey (and they really wasn’t paying attention to her song) but when I heard it the more I mixed it, the more it worked (This cut sound a lot like Young Joc’s ‘ITS GOING DOWN’).  Jess Molli is definitely eye candy but this track works #frfr in the mix (@JessAura on IG)… #JessMolli #ImWithIt

Sometimes an artist just shows up out of nowhere (for some reason that somewhere recently seems to be Chicago…).  First it was Dej Loaf, then Tink, now Dreezy (and boy is Dreezy on a roll…).  She came on the scene with her first hit ‘BODY’ and recently she’s had feature cut with Gucci Mane ‘WE GONE RIDE’ and another cut SPAZZ, but man we found 2 cuts that are smokers that’s coming and maybe the other cuts need to be put to the back.  ‘CLOSE TO YOU’ and ‘AFFORD MY LOVE’ not only are smashes but these are very creatively mature songs for this artist (these are grown hit cuts and the production is on point…).  Today’s DjAlert is ‘CLOSE TO YOU’ and here’s the stats” (0-5 with 5 being the highest)

• TRACK 4.5 PTS ($$$$) this track is so hot. T-Pain and Dreezy really put in work on this track.  The bpm is 72 but when sped up to 90+bpm (DjAlert)  this song becomes a solid dance groove… #SmokingTrack
• PERFORMANCE 4.5 PTS ($$$$) Dreezy already has developed her own sing/song style but this track right here show us a more mature Dreezy that has a great potential in the performance area.  T-Pain also delivers with his part (T-Pain is so underrated, this dude does solid tracks period point blank)… #ItsHot
• MUSCLE 3.4 PTS ($$$) The streets are gonna pick up on this and so will online (which they already have).  This cut is already making the mixtapes circle both hiphop and RNB.  The issue will be that the djs and mixtapes will pick this cut but other cuts are being promoted so there may be some confusion… #ThisIsTheOne develop till the 4th quarter and get caught in the holiday sales cycle.  If

• HITFACTOR 3.6 PTS ($$$) This cut is a solid cut (very strong female demo) but it’s coming into the 3rd quarter  and may not they commit to this cut and perform and gig it as a single then this one is gonna go.  This is a no brainer for djs who like quality music…. #ItsAHit
