GetAtMe TopTen D.R.A.M. BROCCOLI is #1 (the kids have spoken... #lsmh) | GetAtMe | Scoop.it

Okay here’s this week’s GetAtMe TopTen D.R.A.M.’BROCCOLI’ finally takes Tory Lanez’s ‘LUV’ down from num 1 (what’s crazy is Lanez just dropped to num 2, this cut is crazy strong…) Here’s the stats:

  • DRAM .BROCCOLI’ is num 1 this week (boosted to num 1 by strong itunes sales and online trending…) and at num 2 is Tory Lanez's ‘LUV’’ (finally dropping out of num 1…)
  • Drake ‘CONTROLLA’ is num 3 (moving up from num 4) and Usher’s ‘NO LIMIT’ is a new entry at num 4…
  • Rihanna's ‘NEEDED ME’ comes in at num 5 and Dj Khaled’s ‘FOR FREE’ is num 6…
  • Beyonce’s ‘SORRY’ is num 7 and Lucci’s ‘KEY TO THE STREETS’ is num 8 (if this cut had any itunes sales, (currently at num 615...) it would be in the top 5 easily. That’s why real sales are so important because they reflect real demand value…)
  • Chris Brown’s ‘GRASS IS GREENER’ is num 9 as a new entry and also a new entry is Dj Drama’s ‘WISHING’ (Chris Brown is really driving this cut. So really Chris Brown is at num 9 & num 10…)

That’s this week’s GetAtMe TopTen.  Remember “there’s nothing wrong with the record business that a good record can’t cure…”

Who would have though 6 months ago, D.R.A.M. (an artist who accused Drake of jacking the HOTLINE BLING beat from him), would be outselling Drake (who knew…?).  Well our num 1 this week is D.R.A.M. BROCCOLI (and sometimes the gods are fair…).  Here’s the stats:

  • DRAM BROCCOLI is num 1 (I know that’s crazy right) and Drake’s TOO GOOD (who GetAtMe told yall this song was a hit months ago…) came up from num 8 to num 2…
  • Drake ONE DANCE fell to num 3 from num 1 and Rihanna NEEDED ME came up from num 9 (great update of a classic blues cut…)
  • Tory Lanez LUV is at num 5 and Dj Khaled FOR FREE comes in at num 6…
  • Kehlani GANGSTA is num 7 (this cut sat on youtube for over a year and suddenly just started to sell…) and at num 8 is 5th Harmony ALL IN MY HEAD (The Simon Cowell star machine is at full steam…)
  • Wale MY PYT is at num 9 and Drake CONTROLLA comes in at num 10…

The single sales are down almost 10,000 downloads a day currently as we go into the second month of the 3rd quarter.  Has streaming caused the drop in sales?  No because the pop number are still in the 15,000 plus area every week.  What seems to be happening is that the hip hop buyers are sometimes being distracted by gossip for click blogs and hiphop threads.  At times in hiphop we tend to worry more about the industry acceptance as opposed to gauging fans buying taste.  We need to get those number back into the 10,000 plus a day area.  Also Drake still has 3 songs in the top 10,

  • Rihanna NEEDED ME went to num 3 (strong sales number after the VMAs…) and Young Thug’s PICK UP THE PHONE junmped up to num 4.
