While many people are familiar with PrEP for HIV prevention, not everyone is aware the antibotic doxycycline can be used to prevent STI’s. In particular, doxycycline can be useful in prevention of Syphilis, Chlamydia, and Gonorrhoea infections.

Australian Doxy PEP guidelines have been upgraded to reduce the risk of antibiotic resistance while balancing the risk of STI infections like chalmydia, gonorrhea and syphilis.

Travel Insurance With HIV: Today I wanted to share a post highlighting the importance of travel insurance for people with pre-existing illnesses such as HIV, diabetes, heart disease or other conditions that would normally be excluded from travel insurance coverage. There are multiple news stories of people who have had their travel insurance declined after disclosure of their HIV status.

Just to note, the RAPID HIV test is very accurate however you need to understand that the Alere rapid HIV test can't detect HIV antibodies earlier than 14 days, and for complete confidence you need to be tested 90 days after exposure to HIV. This is the HIV Window Period

One of the most common questions asked by people getting a rapid HIV test is "how accurate is this test?" We know that 90 days after potential exposure to HIV (the window period) a test with no reaction is HIV negative.
