Great News for DJ's this month. Corporations revealed upcoming equipment for DJ's and various updates to their DJ Solutions. Serato First, released Serato DJ 1.7 with Serato Flip and a huge DVS Expansion Pack for some controller users. Pioneer introduces upcoming products such as Rekordbox 3, DDJ Wego3, and previews first pictures of the upcoming Plx1000 Turntable. Akai, introduces his first equipment dedicated to DJ's with AFX & AMX Controllers for Serato DJ. Numark introduces his new Serato DJ controller Numark NV with full color Screens built in. I chose this article because i am a DJ and i am into EDM. I agree with this article even tho i am an EDM fan. Old school DJing is so much more of a skill then pushing play and turning one knob.

This article contains quotes from top DJ's saying, 1. "Sync buttons and laptop DJ'ing have killed the art of DJ'ing" 2. "DJ's no longer have to 'dig' for their music, prefering to play the obvious hits" 3."Spectacle has replaced music as the primary FORCE in a DJ's performance" Need I say more? The art of DJ'ing has given way to a wave of people who are just in it for the fame and money. These are not motivations that should be encouraged of practices that should be promoted and publicized. DJ stands for disc jockey and it's sad to see so many "DJ's' barely able to manually sync a track or find music without resorting to top 100's.

Every Dj know the Dj Mag Top 100 ! Let me introduce an alternative chart which is 'in my opinion" better.TopDeejays displays stats from various sites: Facebook, Twitter, Soundcloud, Youtube, Myspace... They included a large database with all major Dj's (Guetta, Skrillex, Daft Punk...). Simply click on "add Deejay" everyone can contribute & adding infos about himself or another Dj. Concurence ? The fact is that Reverbnation Dj chart is just an indie chart even if there are bands like Cypress Hill or else...Thedjlist.com is less friendly & the design didn't change since web 2.0. To increase reputation you need your fans vote for you. It's a big work & the results are very low. For me Topdeejays.com is the best alternative. I suscribed a few month ago & I am now ok to say stats are correctly displayed.
