Amber Greer's curator insight, August 27, 2022 6:30 AM
“Bacteria are generally not harmful and are common throughout our environment,” statement issued by The Great Lakes Water Authority (GLWA).
This is frightening. Of course if the PSI goes down in a water line system,  it is rational to think if water is getting out in a break in the line than there is exposure for potentially something to get in. But a vague assumption in a statement declaring “generally” and “not harmful” does not invoke reassurance. Water testing results and details could help the community feel safer. “Boiling water” makes me think of the show “Alone” and the contestants who did NOT boil there “fresh, babbling brook” water and ended up air evacuated to the nearest hospital.
