Jake Holden shows us how to back it in at Musselman Honda Circuit in Tucson, AZ. It was a natural progression for Jake to come into corners sideways on his supermoto bike after years of dirt track racing. When he saw Nickey Hayden do it with his knee down, he knew he had to master it.

“It’s a bit showy.” That was the verdict of a friend as I roared up on Ducati’s 899 Panigale.
“Yes,” I agreed. “Great isn’t it?”
The bike does look fantastic. The pearl white bodywork – the manufacturer describes it as “silk” – contrasted by the bright red, 10-spoke alloy wheels.
And it sounds incredible – a deep, throaty rumble from the Superquadro V-twin motor.

Yesterday here at the factory the very first Monster 1200 came out of the production line, an event that is technically named SOP (Start of Production). As a tradition, the SOP of every new model is celebrated with a small ceremony: CEO Claudio Domenicali and Production Director Silvano Fini turn on the new bike and they “baptize” it with sparkling wine. Countdown for arrival at dealerships starts now!
