The MotoGP race is set for April 11-13 at Circuit of the Americas. To get fans excited about the race, COTA and Ducati teamed up for a "show us your lean" contest.
The Ducati motorcycle is set up at a 64 degree angle, which is what real drivers do on the turns.

For the first time in the Series history the MotoGP rules have been modified just a few hours before the season’s kick off. After many controversies, however, finally today the die has been cast and, at least in appearance, everybody says to be happy with Dorna’s decisions. Even Honda, through the Team Principal Livio Suppo, gave his go-ahead to the latest moves of the Promoter. “Now I like the situation much more than before – Suppo makes it immediately clear – Now everything is in the full light, all is clear”.

Qatar MotoGP: First Day
The night time racing has begun… 45 minutes of Free Practice 1 was halted by a red flag after a crash by Pramac Ducati Yonny Hernandez. Final results for Ducati Corse riders Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso who completed sixteen and seventeen laps respectively were thirteenth and fourteenth quickest times, and were separated by just a few hundredths of a second. Teams that tested at the track two weeks ago (Ducati Corse did not test) were up to speed very quickly. Fastest Ducati was Andrea Iannone in 4th.

If racing defines Ducati than MotoGP is the very definition of the future of the brand and well, lets just say the last couple of years have been tough on the team and it’s fans. Now we are on the eve of a new season and if there ever was a year that could be called a fresh start, this is it.
As a long time industry analyst I would also describe myself as an “armchair quarterback” who like many fans of the brand, generally has some opinion on how best to steer the ship. I am especially happy to report that as far as I am concerned, this direction, the one where they line up great people and get them working as a team, is really exciting to see....

On the eve of the start of the 2014 World Championship, the Grand Prix Commission has given birth to some new rules for the MotoGP class with immediate effect and others with effect from 2016.
The most important news is that the GPC, taken note of the “surprising” passage of Ducati to the Open category, has decided to restore the Italian Constructor among the Factory entries, however according them the advantage to compete under the 'Open' specs as regards fuel limit, number of engines and tyres. This also means that Ducati, good Factory that it got to be again, will be allowed to race with its proprietary software.

The Grand Prix Commission, composed of Messrs. Carmelo Ezpeleta (Dorna, Chairman), Ignacio Verneda (FIM Executive Director, Sport), Herve Poncharal (IRTA) and Takanao Tsubouchi (MSMA), in a meeting held on 18th March 2014 in Qatar, unanimously approved the following matters concerning the MotoGP class.

Audi is developing a system that will make never getting caught by a red light an everyday thing. The system communicates with an area's central traffic com...
No Ducati content but very cool technology. After spending the last few days on a vintage bike sometimes stuck in Daytona traffic, I would have very much appreciated a wingman with this ability!

The MotoGP soup is overcooking in the Dorna’s cauldron but the cook is haphazardly adding new ingredients everyday. A GP Commission meeting regarding the birth of the Factory 2 (class? sub-class? category?) was supposed to have been held on Tuesday this week. The conditional mood is necessary because the meeting has been delayed to maybe this afternoon maybe tomorrow, not sure that either.

Just like John Surtees, Mike Hailwood was one of the few daring sportsmen who have attained glory on both two and for wheels, racing in both MotoGP or Isle of Man TT series and Formula One. Ducati’s contracted rider Cal Crutchlow has recently visited the Ducati museum and snapped a photo of Mike’s “sponge ball”, a device himself created to help him during races.
As a restorer this sort of personal detail is priceless...

If you wanted proof that things are changing at Ducati, you need look no further than the launch of their MotoGP team. In years past, it was an outrageously flamboyant affair, a veritable extravaganza hosted by Philip Morris to showcase their two motor sports projects, the Ducati MotoGP team and the Ferrari Formula One squad. Held at the upmarket Italian ski resort of Madonna di Campiglio, the event even had a proper showbiz name: Wrooom. All that was missing was an exclamation mark.
Ducati's 2014 launch was very different. Held not in Italy, but in Munich and Ingolstadt, on premises owned and operated by Ducati's current owners, Audi.

Love is mutual between U.S. and Ducati, CEO says
Americans have always had a love affair with Italy, whether it's pizza or Ferraris. Now motorcycle maker Ducati thinks it belongs on that list.
"Ducati loves America," says Cristiano Silei, CEO of Ducati North America.
"I've been involved in North America since '98. ... And I have to say, from that point to today, nothing has changed," Silei says. "The brand has never been stronger anywhere else in the planet than it is in the U.S."

Ducati's newest Diavel features a Dual Spark engine, putting two spark plugs into each cylinder head to provide a smoother-running machine.
Ducati has unveiled its newest iteration of the Diavel power cruiser: the 2015 Diavel Dark and two carbon versions, the Carbon Red and Carbon White.
To many people, the word "cruiser" brings images of Harley Davidsons or Indians. Stretched out bikes with forward foot pegs, longer handle bars, perhaps a sissy bar for the passenger -- and plenty of chrome.
