Ducati created something special in 2011 when it crossed a cruiser with a superbike and called it the Diavel. It changed the way we think about cruisers and now there's an updated version powered by a dual-spark engine. We rode it at its launch in the south of France. Our test bike is the £16,995 Carbon model.

Join Kevin Warren for a trip through some of SOCAL's best old school Motorcycle Shops
...
When you’re a motorcycle photographer who rides, sitting out a ‘Polar Vortex’ winter in Atlanta where it should be 60 degrees, the call of the West is a strong one. So, a skype to a friend in SoCal to see if he has any shooting going on and another to secure a campsite for the Sprinter RV, it’s time to get some work done. At least that’s what some would call being lucky enough to get paid for what you’d do for free.

A strong contingent of five top Superbike teams lined up in fair weather conditions on the first day of a planned three-day test at Jerez. Marco Melandri set the early test pace, but at the end the Ducati duo of Davide Giugliano and Chaz Davies led them home, each setting impressive times on race tyres. Giugliano was well under the lap record, with his 1’41.056 best lap fully 0.4 seconds better than even his team-mate Davies.

Casey Stoner will attend the next MotoGP race set for April 11-13 at Austin. The former World Champion is expected on race-day but he could arrive earlier. It will be the second time, after his retirement, that he visits the paddock, the first time having been last October on occasion of “his” Phillip Island GP, when Carmelo Ezpeleta inducted him as a MotoGP Legend.

Mike Hailwood lies alongside his daughter, Michelle, in the churchyard of St Mary Magdalene in the Warwickshire village of Tanworth-in-Arden. A black gravestone records the names and age of the two, the nine-year-old girl and her father, aged 40. There is also an inscription for each. Hailwood's reads simply: "Too good in life to be forgotten in death."
Certain lots of us would love to watch this. Will keep an eye out for how to do it and pass the word once I know...

They needed a race week-end not ending with gloomy faces in the garage and politically-correct answers in front of the interviews-panel. They needed the disadvantage’s figures starting to drop instead of increasing. In other words they needed a race like the last week Qatar GP. Not a miracle race but a solid start, good to understand that all the efforts done have not been vain. A boost for carry on with the hard work.

One of the main complaints aimed at the last-minute rule changes in MotoGP is that they made it impossible to explain to the casual viewer exactly who is riding what, and why. How many categories are there exactly in MotoGP? Who has more fuel and who doesn’t? And who loses what privileges if they win or podium? To clear up some of the confusion, here is our simple guide to the categories in MotoGP.

If there ever was a bike that deserved it's own segment it's the Diavel. I know the road they used and a true cruiser would have been a rolling roadblock. I'm thinking "SportCruiser" maybe?
