This little vintage Ducati will win your heart
About ten years ago I went on a buying spree, and no shopping malls were involved. At that time a lot of old Ducati memorabilia, electronics, early motorcycles and Cucciolos (the first Ducati “motorcycle” was actually a bicycle with a clip on motor, the design sourced from Siata, an Italian car company). It was pretty clear that the pipeline for these items was seriously limited, so whenever we came across an item of interest we bought it, or made certain someone like minded (by which I mean, willing to show it to the public on occasion) had a chance to....

The new version of one of the most popular Ducati ever (since the spring of 1968 to that of 1976 were built about 50,000 Scrambler, displacement 250, 350 and 450 cc), on several occasions have come out drawings and photos of strange prototypes that turned inside and outside of the factory in Bologna, motorcycle masked more or less heavily ( click here for the gallery ). Then one morning, in the yard of the factory in Borgo Panigale Ducati workers have found a yellow container that contained a motorcycle , Scrambler: just to give it a look before everyone else, including journalists. So in fact no one, including the general public has yet to see the new Scrambler in the final version. But now, we Motorcycling we can show you some exclusive new images exclusively of the bike almost ready for production (marketed in 2015), just missing the mark on the tank badge . The line is inspired decidedly that of the progenitor and the very wide handlebars promises a relaxed and comfortable driving. Note the saddle the old "logo" of the Bologna factory, to return the original image.Domina yellow (color of the beloved old 450), the wings are reduced to a minimum, the saddle is abundant and promised a good comfort even in two, the discharge is low and short and the lighthouse is round, but with a ring of LEDs around the central halogen bulb. The instrumentation is single element, but fully digital, so it is assumed complete. A modern twist is given by the number plate flush with the rear wheel.

Ducati Island Texas Style. I know Ducati fun when I see it and between this and the town of Austin as a host, it's pretty hard to top.

They say: “The essential Monster”
We say: “Who needs 1,200cc?”
The mighty Monster is evolving. Earlier this year we pitted the new Monster 1200 against a bright crop of new-for-2014 naked bikes for our July cover story, and it acted more refined and mature than ever. A standard liquid-cooled engine, along with a longer wheelbase and more room for a passenger highlighted the flagship Monster's lean toward sensibility.

Andrea Dovizioso today ran an almost perfect race on the Dutch TT circuit at Assen, where the eighth round of the 2014 MotoGP World Championship was held. With an intelligent strategy, the Ducati Team rider perfectly interpreted the difficult weather conditions to take home a well-deserved second place, behind winner Marquez. With this result, the second podium of the season after a third at Austin, Dovizioso moves up one place in the world championship and is now fourth on 91 points
Anytime Marc Marquez say's he thought he was going to have to settle for second and that he was ok with that as a good result, you have had a damn fine day at the races...

George Barber gets nominated into the AMA Hall of Fame
I often see updates from my friends that say things like Mary is “feeling happy today at (fill in the blank)” which I guess is Facebook’s way of helping us out with the hard things but right now I am going to steal a page from their playbook because I can honestly say “Vicki Smith is feeling happy today reading her email”. Why? Well, the one I just opened say’s George Barber got nominated to the AMA Hall of Fame on the first ballet and that, well, that makes me very happy.
Here’s why....

In an incredible Q2 session, marked by light rain that increased in intensity, Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso managed to make the best of the conditions to set fifth and seventh quickest times respectively. As a result the two Ducati Team riders will start tomorrow’s TT Assen, round 8 of the 2014 MotoGP World Championship, from rows 2 and 3 of the grid.

Pramac Racing’s Andrea Iannone secured fourth on the grid ahead of both Ducati Team riders at the Iveco Daily TT Assen on Friday.
Mixed weather made for a tricky Q2 at the historic Assen track. ‘Open’ equipped Aleix Espargaro (NGM Forward Racing) was able to claim pole ahead of factory riders Marc Marquez and Dani Pedrosa (Repsol Honda).
Iannone put in an impressive performance, fighting through a group of riders to achieve a 1’40.786s, good enough for fourth. Cal Crutchlow (Ducati Team) was fifth, with fellow factory rider Andrea Dovizoso in seventh.
