After missing FP2 because of a technical problem Davide Giugliano (Ducati Superbike Team) wasted no time in improving steadily throughout the session, before unleashing the fastest time of the weekend (1:57.876) to head into tomorrow’s World Superbike Superpole in the top spot. Behind the Italian, Jonathan Rea (Pata Honda World Superbike Team) finished second, maintaining his strong opening day at the Losail International circuit with Sylvain Guintoli (Aprilia Racing Team) third overall ahead of his compatriot Loris Baz (Kawasaki Racing Team) who elevated himself to fourth on combined times.

Brooklyn-based bodypainter Trina Merry's latest work just looks like a woman riding a red motorcycle.
At first glance, Trina Merry's latest work just looks like a woman riding a red motorcycle.
But upon closer inspection, it becomes clear to see that the vehicle itself is made up of five more nude models in body paint, contorting themselves to form the exact replica of a Ducati motorbike.
The result is an incredibly realistic human sculpture, part of the Brooklyn-based bodypainter's Human Motorcycle Project.
Still laughing at the comments on the story. One guy say's "I would like to be run over by it 15 times"

EICMA is what the Italians call it but most know it as the Milan Motorcycle Show. It's so big one could spend a couple of days trying to take it all in. This years "fair" was marked by plenty of big new bike introductions (here's the link for the shots from Monday night's huge kickoff Ducati press conference:http://photos.ducati.net/Ducati-Events/EICMA-2009-Milan-Motorcycle/10266553_LzjSb ) and a couple of big manufacturers who didn't attend because of the economy. Given that a medium size booth here can cost a whole bunch of euros I suppose the bigger surprise is that this years fair doesn't seem smaller at all. The first two days are for press and foreign trade visitors and there were plenty of them as well. Join us for a look at what lots of people travel half way around the world to see....... Just in case you aren't aware of just how incredible this show is, here's one of our past galleries. Lots more where these came from at www.ducatiphotos.com (click on Motorcycle Shows)

With DVT, Ducati’s 1198 Testastretta V-twin makes excellent torque and power.
When I interviewed CEO Claudio Domenicali about product plans for Ducati after the company was purchased by Audi, he surprised me by confirming that development work would intensify on the Testastretta family of eight-valve desmo engines. Back then, all the attention of the motorcycling world was focused on the new 1199, and Domenicali, a positive man, confirmed there was a lot more performance potential in that engine. He said there could be a substantial improvement in the quality of combustion throughout the rev range via better control of the turbulence in the intake charge at lower rpm.
