I knew planes where using ipads but i did know cruises are using them too. I'm amazed but not because cruises are using ipads but the way they are using them. Cruises are using them to see TV. I mean, just amazing. I think it is great they are using technology to our favor.

I like how the cruise lines are beginning to integrate tablets and ipads into their operation. The increase in interaction onboard or merely checking in will help propel the industry to the next level of guest satisfaction. One thing I am against is, one of the main reasons to go on a cruise, is to get away from it all. If cruise lines are using these devices to help its passengers connect with home and work, it will take away from that one feature that a cruise trip had that other trips did not.

I'm really happy to hear about additional life jacket safety policies. I was in shock to hear that most life jackets are kept in cabins and below deck. Life jackets must be accessible and not lacking in number. I'm huge on boating, and received my license a few years ago. On passenger vessels, you can easily receive a hefty fine for having enough lifejackets for the number of passengers onboard, but keeping them in a "hard-to reach" location. I'm glad we're expanding this policy to cruise ships. It's just a much smarter idea to have these safety policies. I understand that it may very difficult to find deck space for such large quantities of life jackets, but as new ships are being built, it will be more easy to incorporate this policy is the design phase of the ships.

I did not realize there were so many other cruise industry groups. I thought that the Cruise Lines International Association was the governing industry group - since it was international. I believe that this move is the best for all parties. Whenever you can not everyone with common interest under one umbrella, you are able to more effectively streamline communication and interaction with those involved in the industry.

I think is really great. Many people have such busy schedules, with work, family, school, etc, that they don't have the time to go on long cruises or vacations. I'm sure there are people dying to go on a cruise and can't because they don't have time. So ,its great that there are shorter cruises so that those people have the opportunity to experience what it is to go on a cruise.
