La fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles lance un appel à projet en vue d’organiser un hébergement destiné à des artistes soutenus par des opérateurs reconnus par les services de la Culture de la Fédération Wallonie Bruxelles. Cet hébergement aura une durée de un à trois mois maximum durant les périodes suivantes :
- entre le 1er juillet 2017 et le 31 aout 2017
- entre le 1er novembre 2017 et le 31 aout 2018
- entre le 1er novembre 2018 et le 31 décembre 2018.

A.I.R. Gallery invites curators to submit proposals for our next CURRENTS exhibition that will take place between January 4 and February 4, 2018. CURRENTS began in 2010 as a timely and innovative biennial exhibition program. CURRENTS addresses contemporary issues that warrant expanded critical attention in the art world.
Proposals should describe an original concept for a group exhibition that can be aligned with the mission of A.I.R. Gallery, and refer to its relevance today. Your proposal should not include a selection of artists but should only focus on the concept of the exhibition and its importance for the institution and the audience. The selection of works will be made from a subsequent open call for artists after the curator has been selected. A.I.R. Gallery will publish a catalog of the exhibit, which will include images of the artwork and a written essay from the selected curator. A stipend will be available.

Le présent appel à propositions s’inscrit dans un partenariat entre le Vecteur (Plateforme culturelle implantée à Charleroi) et Transcultures (Centre des cultures numériques et sonores). Il concerne une résidence artistique de production de 3 à 6 semaines pour le développement et la présentation d’un projet d’exposition portant sur les arts numériques et digitaux au V2 – galerie du Vecteur. ➤ 3000 euros TTC représentant une enveloppe fermée

Dans le cadre de son programme de résidence, Oudeis lance son nouvel appel à candidatures pour une résidence de recherche et de création. Articulation entre artistes, chercheurs et théoriciens, Oudeis facilite les mutations de la création et invente de nouvelles formes de commissariat, de médiation et de transmission. Le laboratoire est un lieu de recherche et d’expérimentation dont les résultats prennent des formes parfois surprenantes et sorties des normes. Installée au cœur des Cévennes, au Vigan, c'est un contexte exceptionnel qui est offert aux artistes, leur permettant de se consacrer pleinement à leur recherche dans un cadre privilégié tout en bénéficiant de l'ensemble des services nécessaires. La résidence au sein d'Oudeis est envisagée comme une coopération avec une équipe investie et compétente dans les champs susnommés. Il s'agit donc d'un temps durant lequel l'artiste peut questionner, réfléchir, poser des éléments, expérimenter, produire. Il s'agit de mettre en commun des savoirs, de la réflexion, des idées, des émotions, des personnalités, permettant de dépasser le simple cadre de la production.

PERTE DE SIGNAL lance un appel de dossiers pour sa résidence de recherche-création qui offre un soutien aux artistes et collectifs d’artistes tant locaux qu’internationaux pour la création de projets en arts numériques.
Dans l’évolution de la pratique d’un artiste, les résidences sont des moments privilégiés de réflexion et de création. En ce sens, ce programme cherche à offrir au(x) résident(s) un espace de rencontre pour soutenir l’évolution d’une démarche artistique. La participation d’un auteur dans le processus vise à susciter chez l’artiste, par le biais de rencontres et la rédaction d’un texte, une réflexion sur son travail.
Créé en 2009, le programme de résidence de recherche-création offre l’espace et les équipements du RUSTINES|LAB à un ou plusieurs artistes de la scène locale ou internationale pour la production d’un projet de recherche-création en arts numériques, installatifs ou performatifs. Ce programme a accueilli de nombreux artistes, notamment l’artiste Romain Tardy (Bruxelles), Verena Friedrich (Cologne), ou encore Blake Carrington (Brooklyn).
Pour cette résidence, un commissaire, un critique ou un théoricien sera invité à rédiger un texte en collaboration avec l’artiste sur le projet de recherche-création ou sur sa démarche. L’artiste et l’auteur recevront un cachet.
ARTS AT CERN is announcing today three new open calls, giving artists the chance to conduct research at CERN as part of its COLLIDE and ACCELERATE residencies.
Two new international partners have joined the ACCELERATE programme, a one-month, country-specific residency: the Arts Council Korea (ARKO), from South Korea, and KONTEJNER, bureau of contemporary art praxis from Zagreb, Croatia.
“Science, arts and technology are key disciplines in understanding and shaping today’s culture. CERN is proud to be part of that movement, by collaborating with international institutions to foster interactions between our scientists and artists from around the globe,” said CERN Director for International Relations, Charlotte Warakaulle.
Under the ACCELERATE programme, with the support of ARKO, ARTS AT CERN will invite a South Korean visual artist to come to CERN and learn the scientific approach for understanding our universe. At the same time, with KONTEJNER, CERN will open its doors to a Croatian artist who wishes to, through in-depth exploration of high-energy physics, use the residency to reflect how science affects artistic practice. The two open calls begin today for artists to win a one-month research stay at CERN. Applications for South Korean artists can be submitted up to 31 December 2016, and up to 11 January 2017 for Croatian artists.
Since 2014, Prix Net Art has celebrated the current moment of net art and its future. The prize was created by Rhizome and Chronus Art Center in response to a relative scarcity of support and recognition for the field, and to promote public conversation about the crucial but always changing role of the internet in contemporary culture and artistic practice. Awards of $10,000 and $5,000 will be given to two artists who are committed to working online and who represent important forward directions in contemporary net art practice.

L’origine du projet Sciences et Cultures du Visuel est à chercher dans la collaboration étroite qu’entretiennent depuis 2007 le laboratoire IRHiS (UMR 8529 rattachée à l’INSHS du CNRS et à l’Université Lille 3) et un groupe de chercheurs du département « Art, Art History and Visual Studies » de Duke University (NC, USA). Initialement centrée sur un programme d’échanges (International Graduate Program in Art Markets and Visual Studies, soutenu par le Partner University Fund de la Fondation FACE et par la Région Nord-Pas-de-Calais (2007-2011)), cette coopération a permis d’initier une réflexion croisée sur les études visuelles et d’organiser un premier symposium international (22-23 juin 2009), réunissant à Lille professionnels et chercheurs français, américains (Duke University, Durham) et allemands (Jacobs University, Bremen), aujourd’hui étroitement associés au projet SCV...
Pour sa programmation 2017, DAÏMÔN souhaite soutenir des projets qui proposent une exploration novatrice de la narrativité en arts médiatiques. Initiées par la Société des arts technologiques (SAT), en collaboration avec le Conseil québécois des arts médiatiques (CQAM), Eastern Bloc, OBORO, PRIM, Elektra, Studio XX, le Labo NT2, l'Agence TOPO et Vidéographe, les rencontres Labsessions invitent la communauté des créateurs émergents en arts numériques à soumettre un projet en cours de développement dans le cadre de la onzième soirée qui se tiendra le 11 octobre 2016 à 17 h chez Eastern Bloc.
Les rencontres Labsessions visent à offrir une vitrine et un tremplin aux artistes émergents en arts numériques. Les soirées sont aussi un lieu d'échanges et de rencontres pour les artistes, intervenants et organismes du milieu.

The British Science Festival and Brighton Digital Festival are looking to co-commission a new digital artwork that will be presented in a gallery space at the University of Brighton, Edward St Campus throughout the British Science Festival and Brighton Digital Festival (5 September to 13 October 2017). We are particularly interested in works that explore and respond to themes of place: the shifting horizons of physical and virtual environments; the possibilities of technology to reimagine, reinvent and reinterpret space and place, and new opportunities to facilitate collaboration and connect people, place and things. We are looking for an original artwork or a significant development of an earlier piece. Proposals can involve online work but a thought-out exhibition proposal must be included. Proposals should be aimed at a public audience and a focus on public engagement and participation will be viewed favourably.

Nouveau projet d’envergure qui a pour ambition de favoriser la coopération des secteurs artistique, académique et industriel À l’heure où les technologies investissent des plus en plus profondément la société et où l’art semble concerné par la question des technologies créatives et les cultures digitales, le Théâtre de Liège et ses partenaires de l’Euregio Meuse-Rhin lancent un nouveau projet d’envergure qui envisage d’inscrire les arts de la scène dans le domaine des nouvelles technologies, des arts numériques et médiatiques. Le projet IMPACT (International Meeting in Performing Arts and Creative Technologies) est fondé sur la coopération des secteurs de la culture, de la recherche, de l’entreprise et de la formation.
Leonardo/ISAST and the Djerassi Resident Artists Program (DRAP) collaborate on the annual “Scientific Delirium Madness” Art/Science Residency brings together artists and scientists for a month-long retreat in the Santa Cruz Mountains. During the course of the residency, artists working in a variety of media will work closely with scientists working in various disciplines to explore and transform the boundaries of art and science.
Each year, six of the world's distinguished scientists and six forward-thinking artists are selected from hundreds of applicants and nominees to participate. During the course of the residency at the Djerassi Resident Artists Program in Woodside, CA, choreographers, composers, writers, visual artists, physicists, biologists and engineers will work alongside one another to expand their own work and to inspire others.
The Luxembourg Art Prize is organised by the Galerie Hervé Lancelin. It aims to reveal and promote talented artists who have yet to establish a profile on the contemporary international scene. Its function is to discover artists, and it is open to any artist, amateur or professional, with no limits on age, nationality or place of residence. The Prize aims to accelerate the careers of unknown artists by providing them with professional art gallery space, first as part of a group exhibition showcasing the nominees for the Prize and then as a solo exhibition for the winner.
Works of art submitted to the Luxembourg Art Prize may be in any medium: drawing, printing, installation, painting, performance, photography, digital art, sculpture, sound art, video, mixed media.
No specific theme is imposed on the works of art submitted by the artists.
The Intermediality in Theatre and Performance Working Group examines the interrelationships of theatre with other media as well as combinations of different media in performance. It looks at theories and conceptualizations of media in live performance, historical developments and transformations of media, and contemporary manifestations of intermediality. Now entering its fifth year, Vector Festival is a participatory and community-oriented initiative dedicated to showcasing digital games and creative media practices. Presenting works across a dynamic range of exhibitions, screenings, performances, lectures, and workshops, Vector acts as a critical bridge between emergent digital platforms and new media art practice. Since 2013, Vector Festival has developed an active presence in regional and international communities related to contemporary art and critical game cultures. Curators Skot Deeming and Martin Zeilinger invite you to contribute artworks for consideration toward festival programming, which will include a feature exhibition at InterAccess throughout the month of July, along with off-site screenings, performances, workshops, and panels from July 13-16, 2017. We currently seek works from artists at all stages of their careers that are working within the spectrum of new media art. This call is open to works on any subject. ACCELERATE Croatia is the first opportunity for a Croatian artist to carry out artistic research in the field of art, science and technology inspired by the world of particle physics in intense dialog with the scientists of CERN.
Particle physics considers notions of time, space and gravity to understand what constructs the universe while being invisible to the naked eye. CERN, the world’s largest particle physics laboratory, provides an inspirational place to realize ambitious visual or sound artwork and to expand artistic practice into new creative dimensions.
ACCELERATE Croatia is a one-month residency at CERN, organized in collaboration with Kontejner | bureau of contemporary art praxis. This initiative is specially designed for an artist. He/she must have the nationality or permanent residency in Croatia. It is intended to inspire the development of an imaginative project by the artist, inspired by the high level research into particle physics as well as the engineering and technology at CERN. The deadline for applications is January 11th, 2017.
Astérides soutient la jeune création en art contemporain par la mise à disposition d’espaces de travail, d’une bourse de recherche et de production, l’organisation de visites d’ateliers avec des professionnels. Elle programme également des expositions réunissant des artistes résidents et des artistes invités, réalise des éditions de multiples, des publications, organise des rencontres et des programmes d’échanges d’artistes en résidence à l’international. L’association reçoit parallèlement aux artistes, dans le cadre des workshops qu’elle organise au sein des ateliers deux fois par an, un critique d’art en résidence, invité à travailler avec les résidents. > Ateliers Situés la Friche la Belle de Mai à Marseille, ils sont attribués pour des périodes de quatre à six mois.
Les ateliers ont une superficie de 90m2 environ, avec une hauteur sous plafond de 4,80m et une hauteur sous poutre de 4,10m. Ces espaces sont dotés d’un point d’eau et d’une connexion internet. Ils sont sécurisés grâce à une alarme anti-intrusion.
Les ateliers sont attribués vides, hormis la présence de petit mobilier : table et chaise. > Allocation de résidence Une allocation de résidence est prévue pour les artistes résidents. Son montant s’élève à 200 euros par mois (soit 1200 euros pour six mois).
L’artiste devra être inscrit ou en cours d’inscription de son activité auprès des organismes correspondants.

À chaque session de résidence, Astérides reçoit un critique d’art/commissaire d’exposition en résidence pendant deux semaines. Sa présence s’articule autour d’un temps de travail commun et personnel avec les artistes en résidence. Ce travail est rendu public par l’organisation d’une présentation selon le format souhaité (exposition, conférence, performance, une publication).
Calls are open for the following: Projects and performances including notated music, improvisation, installations, and electroacoustic performance. Tilde particularly welcomes submissions featuring solo and ensemble repertoire, female composers and sound artists, and site-specific works.
Collaborative projects. Artists submit their interest in participating in a collaboration with other festival artists. Groups meet in the weeks leading up to the festival to prepare a 10-minute site-specific performance.
A Call for Fixed-media works to be presented at the Festival will open on Friday 30th September. Please check back for more information including maximum length.
This year, Rhizome will award net art microgrants ranging from $500 to $1500 to fund the creation of new artworks or online exhibitions. Special emphasis will be given to projects that fall in one or more of these categories: - experimental narrative

- new browser-based works or series of curated works for front page exhibition on Rhizome.org.
