How Criminals Use Artificial Intelligence To Fuel Cyber Attacks

How Criminals Use Artificial Intelligence To Fuel Cyber Attacks | Artificial Intelligence and Cybersecurity | Scoop.it

Poisoning an AI system can be alarmingly easy. Attackers can manipulate the data sets used to train AI, making subtle changes to parameters or crafting scenarios that are carefully designed to avoid raising suspicion while gradually steering AI in the desired direction.

Nate Herbkersman's curator insight, October 28, 2020 9:39 PM
Artificial Intelligence is certainly becoming more relevant every year, and it's starting to become a bigger part of many people's lives on a day to day basis. For some, the whole idea of "AI" seems scary, as if computers will one day become evil and turn on humans with intent to take over the world or something. This, in my opinion, is a bit of an over exaggeration, and I don't think there's much to be afraid of (at least in that sense). I think a big reason people have these fears is because of modern day influence. We see things on tv like the popular Netflix series, "Black Mirror," or movies like "Ex Machina," where AI manipulates the human race in order to spread and eventually take over. And naturally it scares us because it gives us the thought, "What if that really happened?" But while these examples are merely science fiction, there are still things that we, as a global community, should approach with caution. For example, say an intelligent hacker or coder got themselves into a position where they could see everything that any iPhone user ever sent, received, listened to, posted, etc. This person would have access to hundreds of millions of people's private information. Imagine what they could do with that. Now, I'm no computer science whiz, but I'm guessing it wouldn't be that easy. But if it happened, I'd imagine it being pretty harmful -- to all people. This is why it's most important in this day and age to use technology with caution, and to look out for things that aren't trustworthy. Also, I think it's the job of the people who create and manufacture certain technologies to keep it in the right hands. A lot of people rely on that to keep their private information from being exposed.

As agentic AI and autonomous agents trend in 2026, enterprises face a major new hurdle: standard IAM stacks aren't built to govern these non-human actors.
Diamondstone's curator insight, July 11, 3:48 PM
As organizations increasingly adopt autonomous AI agents, managing non-human identities has become a critical cybersecurity priority. The "Agentic AI Identity: A 6-Stage Maturity Model for Non-Human Identities" outlines a structured framework that helps organizations securely manage AI agents throughout their lifecycle. The model progresses from basic identification and authentication to advanced governance, continuous monitoring, automated policy enforcement, and adaptive trust. By following these six stages, organizations can reduce security risks, improve compliance, and ensure AI systems operate responsibly. The framework highlights that AI agents should be treated as trusted digital identities with clearly defined permissions, accountability, and ongoing oversight, making it an essential guide for organizations embracing AI-driven automation.read more.https://pressearn.it.com/blog/?s=Technology+
