For instance, you may become isolated; you could be distracted by your family or household chores; and, worst of all, you’ll likely lack face time with co-workers and miss out on workplace camaraderie. Here's how to feel like part of "the team" as a telecommuter.

Much recognition this week that flexible working is most successful with communication, support and tools - employees and freelancers can optimize their time and talents with practical tips and strategies to manage their careers, work and situations.
A fun infographic teases bosses as fearing flextime will mean less great gossip and fewer errand-running underlings, but also the more serious issue of their valuing office-based sunk costs and not trusting their employees. Flex means stronger, reciprocal relationships with employees, and traditional constructs hinder positive developments. But, REAL progress is coming in the UK NEXT MONTH - the Right to Request Flexibility will be mandated for EVERY employee who has worked over 26 weeks in a position.

It's all about BOUNDARIES this week, and setting them. Let's not try and disprove the new research that debunks multi-tasking (perhaps it's 'fragmented brain theory' instead!). Lines and limits mean self awareness and self-discipline, which aren't a natural friend for many. There are tools to help - software, applications and analog ones too - plus flex models to suit different working styles and personalities.
Log in and check out - www.flexcelnetwork.com Flexcel's Resources section if you'd like more information about the different flex models to assess which one might be best for you.
