Syngenta, Bayer CropScience, DuPont, Dow Chemical, and Archer Daniels Midland (better known as ADM) are tweaking hundreds of genomes developed over thousands, even millions of years, crossing roses with pigs and butterflies with worms, not to mention corn with a virulent bacteria.
