A Texas priest says that Donald Trump has not been anointed by god to rain fire on North Korea, in spite of what a fellow clergyman may have said. Catholic Pastor Jushia J Whitfield pushed back on the word of a fellow Texas pastor’s word in an op-ed published in the Dallas Morning News, noting that early Christians lived under oppressive regimes. Politics were viewed, he noted, as belonging to the demonic.

A 48-year-old Catholic priest has been arrested in Kochi for raping a 17-year-old girl in 2016, who gave birth to a child a few weeks ago, ANI reported. Father Robin Vaddakumchiryil, vicar of St Sebastian church in Kottiyoor, has been sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
The priest allegedly got the baby admitted to a facility in Wayanad. Ironically, the accused was known for speaking publicly against child sex abuse. “The parents had not filed a complaint. But based on a tip-off received by the child helpline, we carried out an initial probe and found the report to be true. We have filed a case of rape against the priest,” a police officer told NDTV.

"There are those who say 'I am very Catholic, I always go to Mass, I belong to this and that association.'
“‘My life is not Christian. I don't pay my employees proper salaries. I exploit people. I do dirty business. I launder money. [I lead] a double life.'
"There are many Catholics who are like this and they cause scandal," he continued. "How many times have we all heard people say 'if that person is a Catholic, it is better to be an atheist.'"

In an interview that lasted more than an hour with Spanish newspaper El Pais and conducted just as Donald Trump was being sworn in as the 45th U.S. president on Friday, the leader of the Roman Catholic Church warned against the rise of populist leaders like Adolf Hitler.
"Hitler didn't steal the power, his people voted for him, and then he destroyed his people," Pope Francis noted. The pope explained to the paper that he worries about the rise of populism in the United States and Europe.
"In times of crisis, we lack judgment, and that is a constant reference for me," he said. "The case of Germany is classic," he continued, adding that Hitler gave them a "deformed identity and we know what it produced."
"After the crisis of 1930, Germany is broken, it needs to get up, to find its identity, a leader, someone capable of restoring its character, and there is a young man named Adolf Hitler who said 'I can do it.'"
Pope Francis declined, however, to take his trolling to the next level and directly link Trump to Hitler. "We will see how he acts, what he does, and then I will have an opinion," he said. He argued that "being afraid or rejoicing beforehand because of something that might happen is, in my view, quite unwise." Instead, Francis said, "We must wait and see":
